I'm kind of relieved they're not making this. I was leaning heavily towards passing (too big and no room, however there was this voice in my head trying to convince me to order it! :panic:

Thanks Victor!
I hope i am able to get this done to everyone's satisfaction.
Also, here's a short clip where you can see the tail holding the craft and then swinging up.
Although that's the most important part, i let the clip run till the Bat meets it's end.

I watched the clip on my phone and I gotta say, the quality wasn't that bad.

That video reminded me of how much the nuclear device is an integral accessory to The Bat.

I think people are dreaming if they think this isn't going to be made after all the excitement it's already generated. There's a big difference between something that was teased at and something that's already well beyond the advanced prototype stage.

Ah, thanks for clearing it up. When do you reckon you'll finish the first build/prototype so we could see the outcome? Don't mind if it takes weeks or months but would be good to know roughly.

Ugh it looks so huge and beautiful. I wish it were a reality, but hell I'm fine with a 1/12. Just so long as we actually GET this in some form one way or another. 1/12 would still be a great size and affordable for me. :hi5:

I will have to make them with reproduction in mind so it may take me a few weeks to get all the masters made.

I can see that taking a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time. No disrespect intended to Username.

If i can get spare time, maybe a month for the first one and two weeks per item after that.

Nice timing :) you really ought to start a WIP thread

i do most things with that in mind. Makes it very difficult to concentrate :monkey1

:rotfl
Hmm Username I wonder if you could make a model kit so it's easier and cheaper to ship and a tad less work for you but man you would put in tons of hours for labelling parts and writing instructions though LOL so nvm :p
Maybe you can just ship a clone of yourself over to NA hmm shiet we are still in 2012
ok no more ideas :(

Lol.
As for the kit...
I have come up with a very novel and(If i dare say so myself), clever solution to making more than one. When i get the first hull in my hands the pic itself will blow everyone away(I've done this a lot before, and what i imagine in my head is close to how it will happen).
My original idea was to make one from styrene just for me.
But with the possibility(However slim) that people would want a build also, i had to think about how to make parts that were exact each time. Making them from scratch even for three would be a killer.
I won't bore everyone here with my method, but i have an idea in mind to be able to have the entire hull and most of the panels in lightweight styrene via vacforming. And my breakdown will have the entire hull as one piece.
I'll still need an alu understructure which will mount the tail to the lobster arms as one piece to make sure there is inherent strength there. I have a metal fabrication shop close by that has done work for me in the past. They are not cheap but their work is good.
With their contribution, the tail will support the weight of the craft so it can be sat on it's "landing gear".
Possibly the hardest part to envision for me is the rotor hub assembly, but i have a design in my head already(Whether accurate or not, it's not actually an issue, as it will be hidden in the structure). I will mock up the shape in styrene then cast that, and drill the resin copy to install the bearings for the rotors and the gear driven mast. I might be able to source engineering parts from model helicopters for the main parts but i will get info on that later in the build. I have a friend who owns an R/C store and he is an expert on helicopter parts.
Of course i won't rule out the fact i might have to scratchbuild that stuff also. As that will all have to be fitted to the hull later, i will try not to think that far ahead right now. I am juggling about a hundred parts in my head for this build.
In any case, as for a "kit".
Although i could technically get all the parts i was going to assemble myself and bundle them in a box with a set of instructions(And i will offer that if anyone wants it), it will be a big job assembling it all.
I know there will be many up to the challenge. But i know there will be a lot of people who would go pale at the thought of a box with 200 pieces in it that they have to assemble themselves...
And if anyone would prefer the option of a kit, i can work out how much that would cost after the first build.
