Damn....I wonder how much the Bat would weigh...just looking at the base it looks pretty heavy.

I reckon it might surprise you.
Possibly even less than the Tumbler. There are no wheels, and the understructure was a fine frame of aluminium with plastic on top.
That base looks like alu plates, but the Bat itself would likely be able to be handled by one person.
The thing that very slightly bugs me about the HT show build is the set of "RC striplights" they have installed above the rotor louvres. Those were not in the movie. I understand it could be a light source to show there's a lot going on inside the craft(And it does help to highlight some parts if a person were... thinking of building the Bat...).
But those lights aren't meant to be there.
Just an observation.
But thanks for the link to that vid.
I snagged the video in HD and it's now saved on my phone and my iPad for reference. I already had a big galllery of images and videos, but that is by FAR the best video reference of the replica i now have.

Saw this on Facebook:

Looks like somebody is tackling the Bat as well as you Username

Also, just saw the video posted by Hrambo001..damn it looks so completely finished and awesome! All they would need to do is put it in a box and slap a price tag on it! Real shame they cancelled it

Looool good point, but then again it didn't say that it was 1/6 scale (and as you said it definitely isn't) :lol

For sure. I was just messing

This must be 1/24 or 1/32.

I'd say 1/32.
The tools are too large for it to be 1/24 i think. I am well versed on the exact sizes of hand tools!(See below for a video of my workshop).
It has to be a design study model.
Using card stock like that seems like a waste when it can't be sanded to shape. Styrene would have been far better.
It can be seen from the WIP images that it's just a one off.
But it's looking good so far.

Here's a vid of my workshop:

haha nice story DrQ2 and what a career change!
I like to be a gourmet chef.. assist someday....
As for the kit option I think that would make it feasible to get it shipped across the ocean without damage and costing an arm and a leg! oh I just remembered I have yet to build a model I am proud of.... and my pile of model kits waiting for my skill set to reach a more respectable level has reached man height so ....

Thank Geil, I did not change what I did for a living. I am retired. I have been a Chef for a very long time. I just never was in print till 2008.

I would give this a shot. i just started to build models again. Took one of my older guns that I used to use on cakes and using it now for models. Just bought 20 paints and my 1st one in over 20 years was DS9. B5 is being started today.

I'm not sure what username cost will be but I am sure it will be up there. How many people are really going to want to build a 1/6 bat other then the people reading this? I would do it.

if they would only rub in my face locally at least I could take tons of pictures and vids :(

And then snatch it and run for your life :panic:

I wonder if HT will be cruel enough to put this single prototype for an auction after the tour

What are Hot Toys playing at?

:exactly:

And if you look at the little plaque describing the Bat,

It clearly states "1/6th scale collectible"

it doesn't say "display piece, etc.."

why would you call it a collectible if it's not going to be available for purchase. Really bad form in my mind.
