Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I think you're accidentally spoiling the real twist for everyone! Turns out Kyle Reese is also a Terminator, sent to kill Pops so that the T-1000 teaming with T-JohnConnor can tag team to assassinate Sarah more easily. Twist is, Sarah is also a Terminator, sent to kill the Kyle Reese Terminator. She does that, and then everyone looks confused and doesn't know what's going on anymore. A few more gratuitous bus explosions occur on the edge of the screen, T-Rex shows up and eats T-SarahConnor, the end.
Wow, you should be a ghost writer.

I watched that prank video again. That was just so great. Just put yourself in place of some of those people. The impersonator had Arnold Schwarzenegger, dressed as the Terminator, with battle damaged makeup saying "I'll be back" right to his face like five times! What must that have been like! And the one truck driver. Just to have Arnold in T1 battle damage walk up to you and tell you to get out. We can all speculate whether or not we'd do the same things as the guys in the movies. That guy knows! Literally! :lol

Yeah no kidding. Michael Biehn was built like a squirrel with a tiny winy bit of muscle on him with almost no bodyfat. He shouldn't look like a bodybuilder for the exact reasons you stated. It's good to know in this time line, there's plenty of Protein Powder available >_>

He also looks too polished and clean. Biehn was always dirty and sweaty through the film.

:lol He had a little bit of muscle.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I really am starting to think that Matt Smith will be the subject of some huge twist. They haven't used him for marketing at all, apart from those stupid posters at the start.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I don't see anything pointing to the contrary regarding this or that...
Old-800, Sarah and Kyle will dispatch both the T-1000 and a T-850 that was sent to '79 before the halfway mark of the movie. At that point Old-800 builds a time machine so they can jump to 2017 to battle John-3000, and Old-800 will become a T-1000 in the process.

Am I sure this is 100% factual? No. But, then, given what we already know, is it really that far fetched in its absurdity?

I miss the charming and brutal simplicity of the original film. Even T2 is a little silly for me at times.

I do too. I think the biggest reason, of the many, that T1 was the best is because there was only one bad guy and you really believed that he was an unstoppable killing machine. It had that scary slasher vibe in a way that none of the other films had.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I just finished rewatching T1. I've always gone back and forth between T1 and T2 being my favourite. I love the T-1000, but when it comes down to it, I think T1 is my overall favourite. Arnold was much scarier as the T-800 than Robert was as the T-1000.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I don't think T2 is silly but it's certainly at the limits of where I would take it. Go beyond that, i.e - constantly play abso-****ing-lutely everything for laughs as T3 and T:Genisys is, and you've got a film that is totally inconsistent with the original, so much so that it's impossible to regard them as part of the same fictional universe.

T2 only went so far. Comedy had its place in it but it was serious when it needed to be serious. T3 infused comedy into just about every scene the Terminator was in and Genisys looks to be doing the same. However I think that's the fault of the writers, the directors and Arnold himself for misjudging T2 and how that film worked. They're just running with a caricature now. Heck the tone of Genisys doesn't look far off from that prank video.

Well said a-dev.

Its as if the Terminator is an MCU character now.

I'm expecting a Terminator Dance Off in this. :lol
