Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Here's what James Cameron had to say about Terminator Genesis.

"I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered."

So, now he wants credit for Genesis too? He also thought of the Terminator living in society for a long time, just like he saw Star Wars in his head before Lucas did it? :lol

I wonder if they'll agree to use Cameron's recommendation for the last line of dialogue in the new movie: "...because if a machine, a terminator, can learn to recycle maybe we can too...."

Well there's the justification for the inevitable one-liners and funny Terminator. He has already learned them having been in the past for a long time. Plausible enough I guess but not something I particularly care to see again. Its been done as good as it possibly can be done. Trying to do it again and again is just lame.

I can see myself cringing in my seat and cursing Hollywood at the first joke when I see this film.

'Talk to the hand' was my 'Taxation of trade routes to Naboo' moment in 2003.

I am looking forward to the tie-ins the most. Dark Horse always brings out cool comics, NECA probably have the 7 inch license, and I hope for the usual HT figures. It's a new Schwarzenegger Terminator film!

Here's why I have zero hope for this movie:

new Kyle = meh
PG-13
Continued use of Ahnuld - series would do better without him

How come no trailer yet? Movie is only 8 months away.

Thanks for the hours of enthralling entertainment! :lol

New Kyle might suck...but I never thought the original actor was very charismatic either. T1 and T2 are both PG13 by today's standard, so I see no problem with the rating. As far as Arnold goes, he is the only reason people are interested in this film. He is and always be the terminator, and he's the only reason I'm watching this thing :lol

At what point will Skynet just say, "Ah, f--- it," and let us take ourselves out? It's AI, what's the rush? It can afford to be patient.
