^ It's true. He was forced to do Venom. Had to re-write the script and fit him in.

Hence why the movie is a pile of ____.

I think the dance scene was done just to spite them. And now I love it. :lol

Yeah didn't he want to cast Vulture as the main villain for his 4th movie?

i enjoyed the movie, just got back from it i thought it was a lot better to me anyway than raimi's, while raimi's are still very enjoyable to watch i just enjoyed garfield's portrayal of peter parker that bit more and the overall plot.

My only nitpick was the Antidote particles towards the end shouldn't it have affected parker since he is Cross species himself, be it his human side is more dominant than spider?

I actually thought the music was one of the strongest aspects of the movie. Especially when he's swinging toward oscorp tower. Best scene in the movie. I think I'd like this movie more on second viewing.

Which is the part where the camera zooms in on him before he makes a running jump?

Didn't they say lizard antidote quite a few times? :dunno

...

He didn't make anything, that was the entire point of Gwen returning to OSCORP, she did it based on Peter's instructions.

Sorry have to say the dance scene was pure stank, and I really like Raimi's stuff but as usual he get's cheesier as his franchises continue.. He can't help himself.. I think sometimes things are funny to him and not to others... though I did enjoy drag me to hell!

Really liked the film...tempted to say it's my favorite SM film thus far, but I just can't for some reason. The first two (horrible CGI, cheese and all) have something on ASM, and I can't put my finger on it.

That being said, I really dug the "human" side of this film. I thought the important relationships were developed quite well, assisted by fantastic performances. I was sucked into the Gwen/Peter scenes, caught myself with a big grin quite a few times embarrassingly enough. I'm a big sap. Kudos for that though, it's going to make her inevitable death (I'm betting) in the next film that much more powerful. :monkey2

Hated the slam dunk portion of the basketball scene (the lead up was ok), and the football bending the uprights scene. I also didn't care for the crane-assist scene, although it was less cheesy than the SM1 equivalent. I thought it was lame that Spiderman needed their help getting from point A to point B in the middle of NYC...no place in NYC is off limits to SM, that's kind of his thing. I got over it a bit though, attributing it to the fact that he was still learning how to be a pro-status web-swinger. :lecture

Loved pretty much everything else!

I was thinking the same thing myself

I think the reasoning behind that was because the spiders that bit Peter were genetically engineered using a formula with a different decay rate algorithm compared to the final product that Dr. Connors was exposed to. Thus, an 'antidote' for one would not be the same for the other.

Honestly though, I'm not quite sure if those spiders were a continuation of Richard Parker's work or a different subject study altogether. I know his work was centered extensively around spiders, but that dated back to 1999 before his death. Oscorp was pretty pushy about moving the sequence testing to mammal and human trials, so 12 years is a long time to stall. But....maybe so.

Dr. Connors clearly says that the spiders were created by Richard Parker before he left as a sign of the experiments working but that he disappeared and was killed shortly after. The spiders though were created of tested and retested work whereas Connor's formula was rushed through the steps and not refined therefore had the weaknesses.

Richard's algorithm was just the key to making it work not the finality of his work, the spiders were taken from beginning to end by Parker, Peter just provided the algorithm for Connor to work but had no concrete evidence that it would work as we saw with the mouse montage. Theoretically there was stuff within Richard Parker's work that they wanted beyond just one formula and Connors made it seem with his attitude that Parker leaving was more of a crushing blow than just "he took the formula and left".

Back to the whole film for a second, I loved it, all it, the casting was perfect, Sally Field and Martin Sheen were great, Emma Stone was great as Gwen and Andrew Garfield made me forget any actor who was Spider-Man before him.

I can't wait for the sequel and hope they go much further than three.

Pretty much how I felt to be honest.

I think it was a case of getting him there quick enough and while injured rather than him not being able to get there.

Exactly the kid was dealing with a leg that was grazed by a bullet and just got the snot beaten out of him repeatedly, I give him a pass in needed a crane assist.

I liked also how despite wanting to catch Ben's killer, he gave up his hunt for the greater good but in the end we still saw the sketch of the killer as a sign that he is still looking.

I didn't like Captain Stacy's death it would be my only nitpick really because it was supposed to be the catalyst to why Gwen and Peter break up and now it's sort of reduced but overall I thought the film was phenomenal.

I knew you'd love it Mike!

I understand that, but why did he need neatly aligned cranes to swing there? I feel like he should have been able to swing along the buildings and given terrain without using his injured leg on his own. I felt they compromised his capability to write in the "comradere scene." Just my 2 cents :)

They had to kill Capt Stacy off though. In the comic he died years before Gwen, so if they waited until the next movie and capped them both it would seem rushed. Plus in the scheme of things, its not like he lasted long in the Spidey books, so one movie was a good term for the guy. :(

Personally I would have killed Gwen's dad in #2 and if you were going to kill Gwen in #3, introduce Mary Jane in the next film and have her there for Peter at the end of #3 allowing for another director and cast to simply continue from that point telling a story with open range. Just my two pennies.
