Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

17, that's all? :lol I obviously have serious attachment issues to Joss' work. I have seen it more times then I care to remember but I also have it saved on my cell and watch it even while walking to get my mail. Yeah, and on the way back too. I just can't help it. I don't remember a time I was THIS excited about a film.
I know, this trailer is amazing.
I was NEVER a fan of Thor, Cap, or Ironman..hardly even knew anything about them.. But with this trailer/movie, I get that same feeling I did when I saw the first AvP trailer.
Yes, the movie was not near as good as Avengers most likely will be..but just knowing that your favorite characters are going to finally be in an epic movie TOGETHER..

It's like, this is it..the moment everyone's been waiting for.

Favorite parts of the trailer are...

1. The beginning "You were made to be ruled.. BWOOOOOOW" and all the cars spiral up in the air..

2. Samuel Jackson "We get ready" with the marvel theme that follows

3. Robert Downey Jr. "If we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we'll avenge it" followed by Ironman flying, then the Avengers logo.

SO PUMPED!!!!!!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Trailer really didn't get me pumped, but it probably has to do with only seeing the Iron Man films and not Captain America and Thor yet. Plus, I don't bother with the comics.

I am still interested in seeing it, mostly for the interaction between the characters/actors. Those were certainly the best parts of the trailer. And I'm sure it will be a fun movie.

Go grab Captain America and Thor on home video, both very well done, you won't be sorry, and a good bit of the plot for the Avengers ties into both of them.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

iron man, thor, cap, and even hulk are all essentially the same continuous story as avengers...they all tie in in some shape or form

You're really doing yourself a disservice to miss any of the above movies before seeing avengers

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Serenity. All the proof I need to know this will be good.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Yeah I enjoyed Serenity. Still haven't watched the series, though.

It's not like I never planned to see CA and Thor. I just never got around to seeing them in the theater. I have them coming.

I have also seen The Incredible Hulk. I'm not ignorant to what's going on in the Marvel movie world and how these films tie together. :monkey5

The Avengers is definitely in the top films I'll see next year.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Recap of the new footage from NYCC.

A little girl runs down the street, through a nondescript Middle Eastern village and into a city. She runs upstairs into a crowded house and starts begging for help from the doctor. The camera pans to reveal Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) standing over a group of very sick patients. He asks if her family has what these poor folks have as well. She says yes and holds up a fist of cash. Bruce follows her.

Cut to Bruce and the little girl standing in front of a rundown shack. She runs forward, but Bruce holds her back and turns around, just as a jeep full of military personnel drives by. Bruce hides his face.

Bruce then follows the little girl into the remote home, far away from the crowded city we saw moments ago and into a shack. He walks through the door just in time to witness the little tyke jump out the window. He immediately knows it's a trap, "Should have got the money up front, Banner."

Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) steps out from behind the shadows. "For a man who's trying to avoid stress, you picked a hell of a place to do it." She's not in her usual Black Widow catsuit. Instead, she's wearing a long dress. She introduces herself as Natasha Romanoff.

Bruce shakes his head, "You brought me to the edge of the city. Are you here to kill me Miss Romanoff? Because that's not going to work out."

"I'm here on behalf of SHIELD."

"What if I say no."

"I'll persuade you."

"What if the other guy says no." (Crowd goes nuts.)

"You've been two years without an accident." They continue to argue a bit and Natasha reveals that Nick Fury needs Bruce's help with a Tesseract rock, which has enough energy to wipe out the planet. They can't find it and they need the best gamma ray scientist for the job. She continues to try to win him over stating, "No one is going to put you in a cage." But at that moment Bruce loses it. "Stop lying to me!" he yells as he slams his hands on on the table. (Crowd goes nuts again.)

Bruce looks up and Natasha has pulled her gun on him. She's terrified.

And then it's a stand-off. Bruce tries to calm himself saying that we can do this without getting "him" involved. Slowly Natasha brings the radio up and orders everyone to stand down. Cut to an aerial shot of the hut surrounded by massive team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, all pointing their guns at the shack.

They're really building up the unbridled rage of the Hulk well. It killed.

The end of the article:

If anyone had any doubts about the Ruffalo casting, this scene certainly silenced any Norton loyalists. The Avengers will open in theaters on May 4th, 2012.

I'm psyched.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Holy moly. That got me all excited!!! I pictured it as I read it and it just made it even more brilliant. I cant wait for this movie, damn it!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Sounds good. I knew it was only a matter of time before the Norton fanboys got silenced.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm glad Widow got what sounds like such an awesome scene! :rock

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I seriously cannot wait for this movie.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Wow it sounds like not only are the big 3 going to get attention but Bruce as well.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I thought the music fit perfectly. (But I'm a bit biased cause I'm a die hard NIN fan.)

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I don't think that Joss will really single out too many of the main characters. He knows that fans are divided on who their favorites are. So I really think he'll give them each a fair amount of screen time.

Is it May yet? I mean seriously...this is worse for me then waiting for HP. Mostly because Joss is my master.
