Jenny Agutted let slip that Spidey may appear.

Mesa no like yousa pic. Mesa tink'in dat looksa like dead Gungan.
So that's what happened JarJar after the prequels. Couldn't get another acting job, became Lucas' gardener and took to crystal meth. Jeeze showbiz is hard.

I read that and thought it was a misunderstanding. I do wonder why the studios can't agree to allow a cameo or a reference here and there. What better way to promote The Amazing Spider-man than a brief cameo in The Avengers, as long as it isn't too distracting.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Because Marvel/Disney/Universal or Paramount or whoever dont want to promote Sony and Fox products which equals no Wolverine or Spidey :(

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Unless they decided a brief cameo by their new Spidey in an already established bit hitter of a movie may also pay off for them? Get the Marvel fans to accept what is still an unknown property (Garfield/reboot) nothing is impossible if there is money to be made. Marvel wins, Sony Wins.
Who knows.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Can you imagine If their legal agreements have been ammended to include Spidey or other Marvel character in this Avengers movie :panic:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

God those Empire covers are terrible. Two of them (Thor and Iron Man) are the same exact photos already released as individual posters or something.

It's as if they shot each actor individually 5 frames each and are terribly photoshopping them together and already rehashing photos.

3.5 months to go. :horror :panic:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Seems like there is no possible way that Sony would allow Spider-Man to appear in this movie. Unless it's an Andrew Garfield cameo intended to promote their upcoming reboot. That would actually get more fans excited about the new actor and might help to sway people who were on the fence. Then the question would be whether or not Marvel/Disney want to contribute to the success of the competition. They probably would rather see Spider-Man die at Sony so they can reclaim the rights.

Just imagine if Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Daredevil, etc. all belonged to Marvel Studios. The things they could do with their movies would be mind blowing.
