Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

"Scarlett isn’t like her character at all, because she’s so funny and delightful. She’s always in a good mood and is just a riot. Black Widow has a darker incarnation in this film than she did in ‘Iron Man 2’ and Scarlett is very precise when she acts. We hint a little bit at her back-story and it isn’t pretty."

Sounds awesome! :panic:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Read the one about Nick Fury again

That doesn't confirm who the Aliens are. It merely says Hawkeye was "compromised". (i.e. It doesn't say he was captured and replaced by a Skrull.)

Also, one of the other scanned pages indicates that once Loki is captured, his control over Hawkeye and Dr. Selvig is broken. Which somewhat implies that the "alien force" that compromises Hawkeye is probably just Loki through the use of the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube.

I still get the feeling the alien commandos/grunts are going to be a generic alien race. Likely a non-important race mentioned briefly in a short Marvel comic-run.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Is that what is being referred to?

One of Loki's powers is possession and control, he could have taken control of them on his own without the usage of any kind of outside force.

That doesn't mean anything

Also true!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

We saw at the end of Thor that Loki was controlling Dr. Selvig. I assumed that we would be picking up on that development in The Avengers since both characters are returning.

My opinion hasn't changed. The mask looks incredibly strange and it makes him look goofy. (Insert pics of Goofy here :lol) Adding a chin strap would improve the looks greatly, but i think the entire mask needed to be redone. (Note: I thought the helmet in TFA was great.)

Regarding the rest of the suit....it looks OK. Very campy, but the point to CAP is that he supposed to wear the flag. In this case it succeeds. Still, Evans looks skinny when placed in this new suit. They needed to add more padding or just designed it to have him look more physically imposing.

I think the suit looks so awesome without the helmet on and I hope he doesn't wear the helmet for most of the film.

If his ears were not covered up the helmet would look so much better, but it is growing on me a bit.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Nice replica mask but a bit too plastic looking. Less gloss in the blue and a wider "A" would be great.

Chin strap is key.

I get the feeling you sit around all day surfing the net with that helmet on.

The strap is needed especially with Evans face plus I like that back flair on the Ultimates version.
That's another reason the CA:1st Avenger helmet worked.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

They should used Wake's helmet instead of the one created for a $300 million dollar movie with state of the art special effects. :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Vibranium shield: $1,000,000
Super soldier project: $10,000,000
Custom designed Harley Davidson: $4,000
Helmet with strap: Priceless

Not adjusted for present day inflation.
