Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

They played the new trailer tonight in IMAX 3D before John Carter and it looked pretty sweet. :rock

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The 3D Avengers trailer they showed on the IMAX screen was pretty awesome. Conversions don't always turn out well, but it looks like Avengers is doing it right.

Yeah, it came out pretty well. I actually liked seeing this trailer better on the big screen than I did the first time I saw it.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I was definitely making out little details on the IMAX screen that I couldn't see when I watched the trailer on my laptop, that's for sure.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Oh yeah! IMAX is really a super cool way to see movies.

Joss Whedon confirms no Skrulls or Kree in his Avengers
Here's one Avengers rumor we can finally put to bed. Joss Whedon has confirmed that the villains backing up Loki in his Avengers movie won't be the shape-shifting Skrulls or the Kree. So who were those sky-diving minions?

Whedon is still being mum on the identity of Loki's army, but he has decided to finally stamp out the alien rumors flying around the Internet:

"Those two aliens are Marvel mainstays and have enormous backstories," Whedon explained. "They have a big life of their own that just could not be contained in a film where I already had seven movie stars."

Even without such a large cast, Whedon says having the Skrulls in his movie would have been redundant:

"The Skrulls - they can shape change. That's a whole thing," he said. "I've already got Loki. He's got magic. Once you got magic along with your Iron Man and your Black Widow - it's a real juggling act."

So with those two species out of the way, who will we be seeing pounding into Earth's mightiest heroes?

Why is Thor getting his ass kicked in the trailers? How can Iron Man be beating him like that? After seeing Thor fight in the Thor movie how could he possibly get his ass kicked by a guy in a flying robot suit?!

It gets worse when Thor tries to use a lightning strike on him.

The recent spoilers explained why. Basically, it's magic.
