Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Hmmm more like they didn't want Downey getting upset at being completely pwnd by a hippie with a hammer on screen.

I would hope Joss has a little more integrity than that.

A disparity in strength and power levels should be defined a little more.

You are assuming he loses the fight. In the little clips from the trailer, we just see Thor takin hits, doesn't necessarily means he's actually getting beat. He could very well be standing right back up from each hit.

Not to worry little one...

He killed the Sentry

Actually he killed Robert Reynolds. That was just the Sentry's human form... I don't think Thor could take on the Sentry. In fact, in the same fight, he hits the Sentry with his hammer in full force and he barely feels it. Just sayin :monkey1

He was reverting back to human form, but he was also the reason he was reverting back in the first place. If you want a more clear cut example of Thor's power, he killed his own grandfather Bor, who is a Skyfather.

He doesn't lose the fight nor does Stark. They go on to show IM taking a lightning bolt just like the comic but instead is able to handle it and route through a repulsor blast back at Thor knocking him on his ass. Cap then comes between them.
IM is shown taking multiple hammer hits with out much damage.
Thor should manhandle Stark.

Iron Man getting a little bit better of Thor isnt something I will get my undies in a knot over. I'm just glad so far from what we've seen Joss hasn't made a mess of things. We'll know more on May 4th of course.
