Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

Oh Oh Oh......the script was leaked!

I need to know....I need to know!!!

I just have to know!!

Do the Avengers Assemble?!?!?

It resembles an assemble but turns into a disassemble.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

Just got back from watching THOR . Good movie in it's own right , but it also pulls off the difficult trick of making who could be the most problematic Marvel character not only not "silly" , but downright cool to a mainstream audience . VERY optomistic about The Avengers on the strength of this .:yess:

IGN:
Joss Whedon's The Avengers is now shooting, but who will lead Marvel's team of heroes: Cap or Iron Man?

Captain America himself, Chris Evans, sat down with MTV to reveal a few tight-lipped details about what fans can expect when Tony Stark and Steve Rogers assemble.

"I think there's certainly a dichotomy — this kind of friction between myself and Tony Stark," Evans said. "They're polar opposites. One guy is flash and spotlight and smooth, and the other guy is selfless and in the shadows and kind of quiet... and they have to get along. [The movie explores] that, and it's pretty fun."

What will Cap's new suit look like in The Avengers?

Evans also points out that the modern world setting of The Avengers will also have fun playing with the "fish out of water" aspect of the character, in determining his place in both the world and on the team.

As fans of the comics know, both Cap and Iron Man have lead the team in the past. Which hero will take point in the movie has fueled lots of geek debates since the project was announced.

And Nerd Alert! Cap will get a new costume in Avengers, which Evans says is "awesome" and will reflect significant changes when compared to the suit worn in The First Avenger.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

I really think this is gonna be the best of the Marvel movies so far. I think these guys will play well off each other and make for some real fun.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

I regret reading the pages in the images as I have a feeling based on comics past what the Hulk's role will be in the film. :(

As for the new Cap costume, they've gotta sell toys so I would imagine that Thor's costume is adjusted slightly, same with anyone we've seen before and finally a whole new Mark.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

I want whoever stole my mutha____ing script to get off the mutha____ing set and go to mutha____ing jail!

From Superherohype (where else :lol)

Mark Ruffalo, who this week both begins production on The Avengers and releases his directorial debut, Sympathy for Delicious, chatted with MTV News about his upcoming dual role as both Dr. Bruce Banner and as the Incredible Hulk in the Joss Whedon-helmed superhero ensemble. In addition to joking around with a pair of toy Hulk hands, Ruffalo confirmed that the Hulk himself will have some dialogue in the upcoming film.

"You'll love them," says Ruffalo of the Hulk's lines, "...One of them is actually very memorable."

The Avengers, set for release on May 4, 2012, also stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

In the interview, Ruffalo actually said the "Hulk Smash" backwards but then corrected himself....he said "Smash Hulk!" :lol

The Avengers Halts Production Due to Script Theft

On Wednesday, it was reported that someone had stolen Samuel L. Jackson's shooting script for The Avengers, and that they were trying to sell it to various movie websites and bloggers for a profit (none of which took the bait}.

Word from those close to the Albuquerque, New Mexico set have confirmed today that this script leak has caused the huge production to temporarily shut down while the script pages, many of which showed up in photos on the internet, are rewritten. There are other reasons for this indefinite halt in production, but those particular reasons weren't offered at this time.

The pages that made it onto the Internet detailed a scene where Hulk transforms in front of Black Widow while Iron Man and Captain America run around a large boiler room. These scenes will now be altered.

The theft of Samuel L. Jackson's shooting script did not occur in Albuquerque, but it was instead swiped while the actor was last in Burbank, California. There is no word yet on when filming of The Avengers will resume.

The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

Bit late to the party, but the posts before the stolen script have me very excited!

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

Good ol' Lou mentioned he was still signed on to voice The Hulk in The Avengers last year sometime, I wonder if he'll still do it or if they'll alter Ruffalo's voice...

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

I think Ruffalo would be doing the voice since he is doing the motion capture for the face & body. It'd make sense for him to doing the voice!

The Avengers Halts Production Due to Script Theft

Sounds completely implausible. Why would they stop shooting because somebody stole a script? It makes no sense whatsoever.

There are other reasons for this indefinite halt in production

Well there ya go. Can anybody think of one reason why a shoot would be postponed due to script theft? Was SLJ's the only copy or something? :cuckoo:

Re: The Avengers: Discussion Thread

It may not be a trailer, but I bet we get a post credits teaser, and I can't wait to see it!
