Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

:lo Yeah right. The role of Hulk/Banner is cursed I think. Nobody has been able to keep it more than 1 movie. I hope they can finally selt on one someday though. I'm waiting to see the movie before deciding if Ruff is right for it or not.

Any word if a new Hulk movie is coming though? Would that be IH 2 or Hulk 3 or what? :rotfl

They seem to like him a hulk lot more than that Norton A hole. :lol

Hulk TV show will not be Ruffalo nor related to the movies.

I really think this Banner/Hulk will be a huge hit for Marvel.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The wife and I just got in from the fan screening (2D). And we had a blast! I'm struggling for words right now. I have to sleep over it, but some I can share:

Spoilers! Read at your own risk!

Coulson dies :(

Black Widow DOES run away from the Hulk (trailer scene).

Pepper has good screen time.

Iron Man, Thor and Captain America fight because Thor removed Loki from their grip. He wants to bring him back to Asgard (it's not explained how he made it to Earth btw.) while CA and IM think him the enemy.

The armband Tony puts on during the conversation with Loki is for the Mark VII, as it's the anker point for the armor chasing after Tony who is in a free fall after getting thrown out of the window by Loki.

Tony can't be controlled by Loki because of his ARC Reactor.

The fight in Manhattan against the Chitauri is the best fight I have seen in a while. It's long, awesome, and each Avenger contributes to it awesomely (is that a word?).

Thor has 2 armors: The shirtless version and the Thor movie version as battle armor suit up.

Hulk has the funniest moments.

Ruffalo is IMO the best Banner.

Hulk smashes. A LOT.

The whole audience was dying from laughter throughout the film.

The "dragon" is not Fing Fang Foom, as there are SEVERAL of them!

Very good Joss Whedon dialogue example:

Thor: And he is my brother! (talking about Loki)
Black Widow: He killed over 80 people in 2 days.
Thor: He's adopted.

The after credits scene: Well, there is none. It's right in the middle of the credits. And it shows
Thanos

Thank you Joss, thank you!

Is it the 25th yet for the midnight premiere? :impatient::impatient::impatient:

Very first spoiler: NO! God... no! He had even mentioned this before!

Crave Online spoke to Clark Gregg who plays Couslon and he commented on whether or not he was worried that Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers would kill him off...he said, ""I've read this! I'm flattered that people care, but I wish they would stop saying this because they're going to put it in somebody's mind!"

He went on to say, "I'm talking to them about doing Iron Man 3 right now, and somebody's going 'Maybe Agent Coulson should die,' and I'm like, 'Hey, hey, hey! This is the best job I've ever had! Stop talking about killing Agent Coulson off.'"

Last Spoiler: Yes! HELL YEAH!

Also, can you confirm if this is true and what happens?

Does Hulk tries to lift the Mjolnir?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

That first spoiler up there was probably the first one I regretted reading and the last was one I wished I waited to get surprised with in the theaters.

I just waiting to see if what I asked Eukalyptus is true or not. In the meantime, more spoilers are coming in from various sources. Really happy to read the first one though! That's the battle I have been waiting for!
Thor vs Hulk ends in a stalemate. The fight begins on the helicarrier after Banner hulks out and almost kills Black Widow. A huge fight between the two ensues (they're about even in terms of power levels) but eventually ends when Hulk is distracted by a SHIELD fighter jet.

Stark Tower becomes The Avengers Mansion. It's damaged during the battle for NYC but an A symbol can be seen on it at the very end (in a scene involving Pepper and Tony).

The events of The Incredible Hulk are acknowledged as in continuity. Tony watches a clip of the Hulk roaring from the park scene in TIH, Coulson briefs Captain America on the variation to the serum Erskine made (i.e. what Blonsky had), and Ruffalo's Banner talks about how he leveled Brooklyn (i.e. when he duked it out with Abomination).

Thor flies only a handful of times during the film (once or twice in the battle at the end).

Pepper Potts is implied to be pregnant.

The battle in New York City lasts between 15 and 20 minutes.

The Leviathan(s) is not named in the film, and there are in fact three of them.

Agent Coulson is killed by Loki. He tries to use a gun created from the technology of the Destroyer armor on him (in order to save Thor), but gets stabbed. He does manage to fire the gun as he dies.

Thanos is the villain in the mid-credits scene (CGI, but possibly voiced by Jeffrey Wright). One of his minions remarks that to interfere with earth would be to "court death", at which he smiles.

Asgard and Odin do not feature in the movie.

At the end Thor leaves Earth with Loki and the Cosmic Cube.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

It has been confirmed that there would be a new scene at the end after the credits in time for the US release that includes the actual cast. So apparently even what is being spoiled there is still stuff to find out.

I do love bringing everything together with continuity from the other films. That is geeking me out by itself.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I didn't read any of the spoilers and I wont. But it is extremely tempting. But I just want to see it all and have only the previews be all that I've seen.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Can someone answer these questions for me in a spoiler? :lol

- Is Jane shown/referenced at all in the film? (picture, voice, anything?)
- How long is Pepper in it?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm so happy I'm not reading any of the spoilers! :)
