So what purpose did it serve for Stark to go see General Ross at the end of TIH?

He went on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D. to get Ross to stay off of Banner's back.

But I'm starting to wonder if he is really. Yes, I know they used him in the FF sequel, but can it be possibility that he may have been "borrowed" or maybe since they are rebooting FF, they may have lost the license for his character.

Only reason why I'm thinking this is because it will be hard to have a film with Thanos in it and have no mention or not having Silver Surfer in it. And since the Infinity Gauntlet maybe a part of the next Avengers Movie and even have some part in the next few Marvel movies is making me wonder what Marvel have up their sleeves.
I read that they are slated for a couple of "unknown" "untitled" Marvel movies besides Thor, Cap and Ironman in the next couple of years. Maybe it's him? Maybe not. Just excited to see what's to come.

Yeah, that was bad. But I still think it was almost doomed from the beginning. As I remember, there were many confusion about the movie on whether it was a sequel to Ang Lee's Hulk (even after the movie came out) and the publicity/advertisement for the film was horrible.

Damn straight!! For once sitting up towards the front of the theatre (Imax) paid off. Especially in 3D. The scene where she's interrogating Loki with her back towards the camera, I was just in heaven.

I did think she looked better in IM2, body wise that is. Granted she's a looker but she wouldn't have been my choice for the part. I kind of look at her like I look at Halle Berry playing Storm, she does a good enough job. The girl who played Hill was also nice.

That is not the reason according to The Consultant short on the Thor Blu Ray, they are supposed to recruit the Abomination to the Avengers but Coulson sends Stark instead to piss Ross off so he will decline the release of Abomination because Coulson feels it is a stupid decision.

I'm sure if Spider-Man fails (and it might given it appears that they've ripped off Ang Lee's Hulk origin for him) they could potentially sell back the properties to help them dig out of the hole they're burying themselves in. Or, they could just remain douchy and keep making films to keep the license (which is why we're seeing a reboot of Spider-Man).

Any studio controlling Marvel characters right now has got to be thrilled, because they are going to benefit from the hard work and expense of Marvel Studios.

I predict that some time in the next two weeks, Fox is going to greenlight a Brett Ratner project targeted for a Christmas 2012 release where Wolverine, Daredevil, Elektra and the Silver Surfer join forces with the Fantastic Four to combat Dr. Doom, Kingpin, Magneto and the Skrulls.
