Any studio controlling Marvel characters right now has got to be thrilled, because they are going to benefit from the hard work and expense of Marvel Studios.

I predict that some time in the next two weeks, Fox is going to greenlight a Brett Ratner project targeted for a Christmas 2012 release where Wolverine, Daredevil, Elektra and the Silver Surfer join forces with the Fantastic Four to combat Dr. Doom, Kingpin, Magneto and the Skrulls.

In this theory of yours are they going to use the original actors and characters or reboot everything?

Ratner and Affleck LOL :horror

Was I the only one besides Fury of course that thought it was incredibly dumb how fast the council decided to fire a nuke at the cube. To me Loki's army wasn't very intimidating at all. Our own military could have handled them IMO. Joss needed to make them stronger and did a very poor job of it IMO.

They would be dumb not to try it. What about the justice league? Will we ever see that? Wasn't the avengers created to rival the justice league?

Because our government is just impeccable when it comes to making smart decisions! :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

DC controls the Justice League and seems to be in a hurry to flush all of their characters down the toilet like a junkie who just heard the police knock on the front door.

just saw this today.

7/10

It was good but not great. I think it's a bit better than most of marvels films but just a notch below Thor. The thing that really makes this a on par film and not a game changer for me is the sound/score. Sound and score ultimately makes or breaks a film for me and this one didn't do anything for me. I'm quite shocked that Alan Silvestri turned in such a generic score for this, really a shame. A few little touches here and there would have taken this from a good film to an EPIC film, but it lacks. Visually and story wise, it's awesome, but it's missing one key component to really set it apart. I liked it, didn't love it, wish I did, but it's worth it to see and I might see it again some day, just left the theater feeling kind of empty about it unfortunately.

Loved Iron Man though, he had my favorite moments.

Was surprised I haven't heard much talk about the score, I thought I was alone on this. Silvestri really did disappoint, especially with the main Avengers theme.

Yeah, that's why they won in Vietnam, effectively found WMDs in Iraq, and mopped up Afghanistan in three weeks. :duh

Now . . . if the Chitauri had been innocent, unarmed women and children?
Oh man, they'd have been toast! :blissysmi

Yea, I'm a score nut, I have 6,000 songs on my Ipod and half if not more are film scores. I really wanted to love this like I loved the new Star Trek, similar films in tone and execution, I just think Trek had the better sound team on it, that, and I found Trek to be more entertaining (just seemed more fun), but don't get me wrong, Avengers is still a good film. Not looking for a fight here just stating my opinion.

After seeing how badass this movie was, I am ready for Marvel to reboot Fantastic Four

lol you know marvel is not doing fantastic four, fox is doing a reboot. and it seems like Josh trank might be producing it right now kind of like how Nolan is producing the new superman. Don't get your hopes to high yet.

I just wish the studios that own the different Marvel superheroes see just how well the Avengers is doing and want to start taking about studio cross overs. I mean there would be tons of red tape I'm sure, but if Sony would like Spider-man be in the Avengers or the Fox the Fantastic Four, you could end up with some epic films. I don't think it would be a problem until they come to the part with who gets what when it comes to the money :(
