My hypothesis is that by the time they got to the end, somebody went up to Joss and whispered "We might end up going over 3 hours here." And then Joss said "F-IT! Phantom Menace ending!"

:lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol I'm sure there's an explanation. I just hope it was cut from the film and won't be an EU type thing. :monkey1 :lol

I really like this photo.

Is Scarlett hiding a baby bump?

Still doesn't make any sense. The Chitauri are the Ultimates universe's equivalent of the Skrulls.

I read up a bit more on them, apparently in the Ultimates the Skrulls say they go by that name, and another source said they hate being confused with the Chitauri who can also shape shift. lastly, a third source said Whedon used the Chitauri because "they didn't have any wide background story and they could be used even for a small part"

So maybe in the Marvel Movie Verse, the Chitauri and Skrulls are two completely separate races.

And their instant death is like Kabukiman said, a convenient way to wrap up the fighting.

Ultimate Skrulls

The first alien shapeshifters introduced in the Ultimate Marvel Universe are known on Earth as the Chitauri, who financed the Nazi regime in an attempt to conquer the Earth. Their leader Herr Kleiser states that they are called by other names on various worlds, including the name "Skrull". These Chitauri claim to originate in the "lower fourth dimension", and assume others' forms by devouring them; it is unknown what their true form looks like, since the only time one of them is shown in it is after it has been killed and dissected. The Chitauri have a hivelike social order, with the "officer caste" having superhuman strength, durability and high intelligence. They are defeated by the Ultimates.[101]

Another race called Skrulls, physically resembling the Skrulls of the mainstream Marvel universe appear later (led by the billion year old Skrull Emperor, Kl'rt); these Skrulls dislike being confused with the Chitauri, whom they call terrorists. They have extremely advanced technology, but have not been observed to shapeshift. These Skrulls were seen only in an alternate timeline in which Reed Richards contacted their world via his teleporter; the events leading to that timeline were altered in Ultimate Fantastic Four #29 so that contact was never made.[102]

ScaJo needs to lose some weight. She looked pretty chubby in the movie and that girl can't run for ____. Every time they showed her running, you could tell she's no athlete. The girl playing Maria Hill would've made a better BW. At least she has her built.

You've got to be kidding me. :slap

The Chitauri was only a name used for the movie. They have nothing to do with the Chitauri of the Ultimate Universe and they are not shape-changer.

It might just be me...but judging by the way Ruffalo and Downey are holding their hands to fight...I am guessing that Ruffalo would get beat up a lot in real bar fights and Downey believes the hype about Sherlock Holmes' slap-fighting.

I could be wrong.

If memory serves me right RDJ is a black belt in a Martial Art (not sure which one). I saw a video of him training years back, and it looks like he can throw a pretty good punch.

Don't think it'd much matter. Given he's somewhat of a method actor, I'd imagine that he's trained in the same martial arts his Sherlock Holmes does on screen. :lol
