CONFIRMED: The Avengers To Film Outer-Space Scenes At NASA Facility
It's been confirmed that The Avengers will film at The Plum Brook Station in Ohio, a facility which can recreate Anti-Grav, outer-space environments..
The Cleveland media have been able to confirm what OLV reported don back in April. It appears(not too unsurprisingly) that Joss Whedon will be using the Ohio based station to film some space fairing scenes for The Avengers.

From OLV..

Apparently, the NASA facility has a feature of particular interest to filmmakers: A vacuum chamber that can recreate the cold and airlessness of outer space. Reportedly, this is one of the reasons why Plum Brook was chosen as a filming location

Now at this point I think we all know, even though it hasn't been officially confirmed, that the team will be facing some kind of Extra Terrestrial threat in the movie. So the fact that Outer-Space scenes are being shot isn't really surprising. But what scenes in particular? And will we see any of Earth's Mightiest Heroes themselves take to the stars? Guess we will have to wait and see which actors(if any) are spied on set. Apparently more details on what will be filmed will be released soon. The scenes are scheduled to shoot at Plum Brook Station in August.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Iron Man in that drawing looks awesome.

Despite my one issue so far still looking forward to the overall movie so that space sequence should be cool.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

That poster makes no sense.

It says Avengers but Whiplash and Iron Monger are on there plus Mark 1 and the scientist that died in the cave.. :dunno

Is that just a generic IM shot or is it an IM1 movie shot?

Why would it be an Avengers movie drawing though, why the May 2012 and "A" :dunno

Maybe each character will have a one sheet like that. Sort of a legacy poster concept :dunno

(even though everyone else has only had one movie :lol)

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

It's the Iron Man story. I would assume each character would have his journey up to that point on the picture.

Thor would have Loki, Jane, Frost Giants, Odin.

America would have Red Skull, chick with machine gun, ect..

Hulk would have Abom, Betty, Ross.

Nick Fury would have tasty burgers, shotguns for this kind of deal, and a wallet that says bad mother ____er on it.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I got five seconds into the teaser trailer and then turned it off because I want to wait until Thursday night to see it with Captain America. But from what everybody's said, its AWESOME which gives me something to look forward to.

:rotfl

i dont know what the deal is with jules fig still not getting made. tarantino and miramax always have no problem leasing their films license. ditto with sam. his likeness has been made as shaft by mcfarlane, then by ht for the spirit. so what's the hold up???

could it be travolta getting in the way, since no toymaker is going to make jules with no vince? personally, i'd rather have jules in his lonesome than nothing at all.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

looks awesome! but is it me or does everyone look skinnier? evans and hemsworth look like they didnt prepare as much as they did for their individual movies

Im pretty sure its just you :lol

Hemsworth looks the same here (minus the hair) as he did in the Thor movie, I've only seen a few commerdcials for caps but it looks to me like Evans also kept his size

Also Remember that Evans pretty much almost had to shoot C.A. and the Avengers back to back. I'm pretty sure they are all the same size.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

exactly! :lol I was gonna say that but for some reason I wanted to say Hemsworth shot thor and the avengers back to back I know I wasnt right but I couldnt say evans for some reason :lol
