I just assumed they were some type of cybernetic borg type life forms...but I know nothing about the comic Chitauri.

I want his arrow to go into my squishy parts.
Sorry.......had to say it. It was just RIGHT THERE!
Nope, just normal aliens.
I think the movie versions may be a lot different. They may be sort of cyborg type...guys. Throughout the sequence you can see little purple lights amongst, what appear to be almost cybernetic attachments (the metal ridges that almost look like spinal columns). These lights always go out when one of them dies. I'm thinking, maybe Thanos has these guys enslaved in a way. A sort of tyrannical control mechanism.
Leaving soon for the 7pm Imax.
Everytime my wife invites her girlfriends over for a taco fest, I get a chance for another viewing.
Tonight will beat my TDK record of 6.
Yeah, there is a scene where I believe black widow rips out the part connecting to the back of the skull and it just dies. Which to me means it doesn't have any connection to the mothership and why when that gets blown up they die.
Did they actual DIE or just become immoble?
This link explains it, stating 'The Chitauri are a powerful, technologically advanced race of alien cyborg-like creatures' and the nuking of the Mother ship 'evidently cuts the link off from the aliens' collective minds and kills all the Chitauri in the immediate vicinity on the other side of the portal.' Guess their basically like The Borg.

So 100 fewer theaters are showing Avengers after only a couple of weeks? Weird.
I literally cannot believe those morons spent $200 million making Battleship.
