Still think that this was dumb as hell.

^ Would be too cluttered musically.

I'm glad Silvestri stayed away from that. I did like the nod to Cap's theme though.

Love the score though, even if it's kinda rushed.

But i'm a Silvestri fanboy. :D

A couple of thoughts from the film - I have seen it around 4 times now.

The good -

Great writing.

Stark is better in this than both Iron Man movies. His one liners are some of the best I have seen in film for a while.

I love how Black Widow is terrified of Banner.

Widow owning Loki in the cage.

Loki being full-on evil.

Cap is even better in this. He called Loki's game from the start. I like how he is not only muscle but brains too.

Banner and Stark interaction is pitch perfect.

Banner: (About Loki) That guys brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell the crazy on him.

Hulk.

Hulk's interruption of Loki's obligatory Villain speech (complete with score that is suddenly interrupted) It was a great - I-can't-believe-they-just-did-that moment.

Seeing Fury in action and not just a talking head.

Oh - and Hulks side-punch to Thor. Classic, not needed but cool they threw it in.

The not so great -

Turbine issues dragged on FOREVER.

Loki army dying with the nuke hit? They were not robots. Seemed like a cliche.

Coulson death. (If he is dead)

Hulks voice.

Alan Horn to Run Disney Studios

I'm not sure exactly to what extent the chief studio exec is really responsible for the success or failure of a film franchise, but Disney just recruited the ex-WB President and COO who presided over WB's biggest successes (and flops) of the last decade.

Among the numerous critically acclaimed films and box office hits released during his tenure are all eight films in the Harry Potter series, The Dark Knight, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Happy Feet, Sherlock Holmes, The Departed, Batman Begins, Million Dollar Baby, the second and third Matrix films and the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy. Horn is also an executive producer of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

It's interesting, because he's replacing Rich Ross, who resigned because of the John Carter flop...but if Ross is "responsible" for that, isn't he equally "responsible" for the success of the Avengers?

No. Disney owns Marvel but Marvel Studios with it's own head (Kevin Feige) was in charge of everything Marvel since Iron Man first walked onto the screen. John Carter was a Walt Disney Pictures production under his command of Walt Disney Studios. The two have no bearing on one another except for the fact they are under the same parent company. Giving Ross any kudos for The Avengers is similar to giving props to the CEO of Izze Beverage Company because the new flavor of Frito-Lay chips did phenomenal simply because both are owned by Pepsi.

They should have made him commit seppuku, who lets Taylor Kitsch carry a $250 million dollar movie?
