But if you're even somewhat interested in getting the Takara Catwoman figure, buy one now. Takara can't be beat when it comes to female figures and I doubt that one will be available in 3 months at retail price.

She is pretty sweet looking and much cheaper that Takara's Bats.

So I guess that makes two of us who aren't biased unless you're basing everything on Keanu. :lol

I gotta tell ya bro, the detailing on the outfit, weaponry and accessories (headset) are absolutely sick, I have never seen anything like it and that's what sold me on HT quality.

wait till you see the BB weapons and belt, you are gonna censored smiles...

btw, HT LAPD Swat figs sell for $200 now on Ebay...

I have both on order (thanks pjam for T2 info) but I like Takara's better from what I've seen. The accessories and belt look more to scale with the figure than HT does.:monkey5

Yeah, both are great, can't really go wrong with either one. I just think you can't beat HT when it comes to weapon detail, the belt is more detailed, larger and fits snug on the fig. Tak belt sags a bit, as I said both will be collectors items and the Tak Catwoman is a home run.

HT's cast suit looks like it'll last longer then the thinner cast suit from Takara, and HT has a better looking grapple gun then Takara, theirs looks too small.

What do you mean by lasting longer? I was wondering how durable the plastic is on these figures in terms of repetitive posing. I'm the kind of person who will be posing constantly for the first two weeks while I photograph and Photoshop it. Afterward, I keep the same pose for a little while and then change it to spice up the display.

How long do these usually last?

No way I am spending that kind of money on that Takara when all it has going for it is a spare Bale head and first night out gear (All it's good for). The suit parts look too much like what they are, a molded rubber suit. The knees and other areas do not look like the seperate armored bits that they are supposed to be. The HT has that. After seeing that both can pose to about the same degree, that the HT is not restrained by it's obviously thicker overlays, it's a no-brainer to me. The HT is simply crisper and sharper in detail, with more consistant overall finish.
The Takara looks like a cheap Halloween costume in comparison. And I can't stand the Batman head on it. It looks like one of those large Batman pencil erasers. Not even close on a match texturewise with the rest of the figure.

NOT worth $300....that's a joke...and a lot of presale madness....

The Takara Catwoman on the other hand...that's a nice peice.
Of figure....I mean...

IMHO...:D

Hot Toys T-800 Rules.

The jacket alone beats any 1/6th clothing made by anyone.

And yes. I agree.

I've reworked that figure into a less beatup version of the Terminator four times now, once for myself and three times for others.

See here (bottom of page): https://figuremasterles.tripod.com/id29.html

Every time, that jacket is the clencher. Absolutely stunning. IT has me sold on Hot Toys for a while. Good call Evilface.

I love that costume on the Hot Toys Terminator... just fantastic work on HT behalf and also what sold me on their product. The costume for Kyle Reece was equally nice...:D

I have a Hot Toys and a Takara preordered. I hope that I'll get my Takara in the next week or so from HLJ. I can't state a definitive opinion yet, but from the photo's I've seen the Takara is awfully nicely done and I think may be superior to the HT and Medicom versions. If you take a look at the photo's posted over at MWD I think objectively you'd probably agree based on the photo's it's simply a better representation of the film character. It also includes an awful lot of interesting accessories as well as a nicely sculpted Bale head. All three are very nice. But Takara's looks darned near perfect. I'll let you know if I still think so in a week or two.

So the HT version doesn't have the double neck joint that the Takara does?
Will the HT version be able to look up & down naturally? The Takara pics over
at MWD DO look impressive though (I was on the HT side... until now)

!ss!

I've got both the Takara and Hot Toys BB on order, as well as the Medicom and (ugh!) DC Direct, and from the pics I've seen, I'd favor the Takara. If that opinion changes once they're "in-hand", I'll let ya know.

What I mean is that the Takara version looks to have a thinner rubber suit that's a bit more elastic then the Hot Toys suit. It's also in two hole pieces with no breaks in the suit at major joints like the Hot Toys version.
I get the feeling that either Takara's suit might degenerate more quickly over time then the HT version or Takara's might crack and tear more easily.
Now HT has had problems in the past (almost two years ago) with a soft and elastic rubber skin that has degenerated on people's shelves over a period of time. Hot Toys knows about that problem and said they tried preventing that with their newer rubber skin used on the Rambo and the PMC figures. I have one of the older skin bodies and two of the newer ones that don't show any degeneration. And I think HT might be more aware of that problem then Takara.
Takara's Batman looks great now, and it could still look great a year from now, but It might not last as long as HT's Batman. It's just a bad feeling I get from the way the rubber looks on Takara's version.

that thread has the best side by side pics of the Tak and HT Bats (scroll down) and i don't think there's any contest. the Tak has better proportions (HT looks waaay bulkier than Bale in the movie), articulation (ball joint ankles), no cloth under the suit (whole suit is rubber, yet still allows good posing due to very tight joints), ect. actually the only thing i can pick at on the Tak is the different colors of the mask and neck. i don't mind the neck joint because of the other head (not to mention that unmasked head can be used for bashes) and it moves better because of the joint.

I just don't like the cut neck and the slender body on the Tak, Bale was beefier in the Movie, guess we're going around in circles at this point

so I'll just say

MORE COWBELL!
