This is a DINOSAUR after all.

:lol Nice job amping up the size. I like the actual size a lot. It's by no means minute, and it's not ludicrously large. Frankly I'm running out of space for my collectibles, and my girlfriend will only tolerate so many before they begin to overrun the house.

The amount of detail in the sculpt is magnificent, especially considering the smaller size. The hi-res pics linked above really to a great job to show the bony protuberances in the skin.

Also, I'm EXTREMELY pleased that in the video feature the paint and coloration are stressed as essential components of this piece. My chief concern and it looks like they are paying mind to it this time around.

I just watched the video and it sounds like this line is really going to be all kinds of awesome. The scars on the Rex's eyes looked really cool, did they do that on the vs. dio? Maybe its going to be on an upcoming maquette if not.

Do you mean the initial pics of the vs. dio with the scars? I'm guessing that's what you mean, and from what the hi-res pics show there are loads of scars on the T.rex in the dio... if that's not what you mean, please share where you saw this! ;)

It was a picture of a drawing in the video. It was of a Rex's head (well to me it looked like a Rex's head but could have been something else) from the side view and there were a few vertical scars going down over it's eye. I looked on the vs dio (which I'm trying to avoid before I order one) and I can't see any scars over the Rex's eye in that, but maybe its too subtle to see in the pictures on the site and you need the hi def ones.

I just checked, its at the 2:19 mark, just after he's talking about the JP Dio and whether the interest in it was because of the movie or in dinosaurs themselves. The pic shows the scars over the eye and it also had some scarring on the upper jaw where it looked like you'd be able to see some of the gums. Almost as if the mouth is in a permanent snarl.

I hadn't checked out the revamped Inside Look. Looks like some awesome designs on a heavily-scarred T.rex. The video features a LOT of T.rex artwork, and surprisingly some of the variation I mentioned about the brow with the supraorbital appearing differently in a few of the images. Most of the concept art has a single prominent brow bone, but ironically it's the T.rex with the scars and shredded gum line that has the bifurcated brow.

That in-progress pic is positioned at different angles in the revamped Inside Look, and that DEFINITELY looks like T.rex and NOT T.bataar (Tarbosaurus). Looks like we're seeing our first shots of the T.rex maquette there. :rock The skull is much more broad and heavily built, making it seem much more T.rex than T.bataar (which is more gracile with the bifurcated brow). Looks awesome so far.

That's our T.rex maquette. Not Tarbosaurus based on the heavy build. They're using a divergent brow structure seem in some of the specimens we have. Can't wait to see more of this.

Tyrannosaurus rex AND Styracosaurus maquettes coming soon!!! :rock

CHECK OUT THE NEW INSIDE LOOK!!!!!

This line is looking superb!

I'll admit this thing looks pretty dam cool...I ordered 1 yesterday. Dam, just when you think you got a hold on collecting 1 spacific thing..something else comes out you really want and now you got a WHOLLE new obsession :banghead

I want to find a way to make some nice name plates for these with the dinosaur, the period, and the scale (if I know it). Sorta like a museum piece. I'm really excited about this line. I hope they do alot with it. I think they will given the excitement they seem to have about it and the excitement the fans are showing.

Let me know if you need any help with specifics about the dinos, what period, scale, taxonomy, etc. Happy to oblige.

I agree, there's a lot of excitement over this line, and rightfully so in my mind. From the looks of the two new maquette previews there is a LOT of potential here that they are tapping into wonderfully.

Awesome, thanks, I probably will need quite a bit of help with it if it isn't on Sideshow's site. :lol

ES for EX is 150

:rock :rock :rock Just saw this myself and I was overcome with joy. Very very promising. I hope with such a small ES that Sideshow really pours all that they can into making this piece exceptional. Jeez, and here I was impressed by the 200 ES on the EX Dio. I'll be following this line every step of the way. :banana

150, Sweeet! Kudos to SS for starting this line in the right direction.

I am really really happy it's smaller. I really hope that only a very select few are large. Not only for display reasons, but also for cost. If they remain small and affordable, I can keep up with the line. If they were all large, I would have to be much more selective.

I like the size too. I'm really leaning towards being a completist with this line and smaller sizes will help.
