I would love for Nolan/WB do a LOTR style EE of BB/TDK/TDKR. :horror

Imagine 30-45 mins added to each movie.

Epic!

While SW VII will remain the # 1 geek property in existence for the next 6-10 years, an EE Nolan trilogy would be a close second.

First actually if SW VII turns out like the PT. :lol

I don't know. I say things like "I think they should start fresh," but it could work. If it is done right, that is. First and foremost, The Dark Knight Rises could be construed as a beginning just as much as an end. As Bruce Wayne leaves behind the mantle, I suppose that could mean the end of an era; the end of reality. What if, just as John Blake becomes Batman, the era of the "super" hero begins? I still think that it'd be best to reboot, though. Am I the only one who thinks that DC incorporated certain elements into the New 52 as a sort of "road map" for the motion picture industry? The armoresque designs for the heroes are optimized for film. They remain true to the characters while providing a less "cartoony" design.

I am down for this. JGL was amazing in TDKR. But I still want to see Bruce Wayne in the Justice League. Interesting nonetheless.

DO WANT! It would be a dream come true if that was what the Ultimate Collector's Edition was (and it might explain why we have to wait almost an entire year for it to come out).

All he'd have to do is cut in an extra hour of Bruce and Alfred walking around the Batcave with the part of Gollum played by Rachel (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

I dont know how WB is gonna do this or what there thinking but I love JGL, if he bulked up and they shot him so he would look husky, he could be a great batman.

Time will tell.

This news is probably fake...but honestly, the idea of the JL movie follow TDKR with JGL as batman is definitely ballsy and interesting. Ballsy akin to Nolan basically ending Bruce Wayne's story...like dark knight returns, rises is the last batman story told. It's ballsy because it won't be Bruce Wayne behind the mask since his name is synonymous with batman.

And it's interesting because its NOT Bruce Wayne as Batman. Like **** Grayson as batman, it'll open up so many story opportunities. In film, like many of you have said, how many times can the story be rebooted and how many times can his history be retold? While its unfortunate that the Nolanverse ended before batmans other villains could show up with Nolan's style...but at the same time, I love that he told the story he wanted to tell. A story that had an ending, a story where Bruce Wayne has finally found peace.

With the idea of JGL donning the cape and cowl is going to breathe new life into the batman mythos. No one likes change, but if done right, we profit from it with incredible story telling and possibly compelling character arcs. Kind of like the Bourne series. I haven't seen the newest movie, but isn't bournes presence felt throughout the entire movie despite him not appearing once?? I can imagine Blake just trying his best to live up to waynes legacy, with mentions or nods to him. just LITTLE simple things like that can make a huge impact in the movie.

As much as I want to see Bruce Wayne in a JL film, but I think this approach can be fun. Different can be good...if done right.

JGL as Nightwing? I dig that real good;

But, in the JLA film, im not sure. I mean Grayson did join JLA as Batman. If they were continuing from TDKR stand alone, I can see JGL as Batman in the sense of how RIP worked after Bruce came back, and how Grayson kept the mantle of Batman whilst bruce set up Batman inc. **** is a great Batman IMO, and I liked his internal struggle of Becoming his own Batman and not just doing everything Bruce did IE penthouse. A change in fighting style and more athleticism/acrobatics.

And cmon, id say that Graysons batman has a modern Iconic pose with a throwback;

One of those simplisticly cool poses. But yeah, my two cents.

Well I've argued before that something like this COULD work if done right

I'm not yet convinced that it WILL happen or that it WILL work

I get that WB would rather continue the Nolanverse into JL but I don't think that Blake is the way to do it. Some global threat should strike while Bruce is vacationing and force him out of retirement. Then he can just join up with the Justice League when the need arises kind of like how they ended it with the Avengers.

Then they can have a Bale JL Batman and Blake Gotham Batman in the same universe.

I still think Superman and Green Lantern should have popped out of nowhere at the end of TDKR and saved Batman from the exploding bomb...after the rescue GL should smack Batman on the head saying "What you doin boy! We need ya!"....viola JLA....That would have shocked the Sheet out of the audience if that had happened...The cheers would have been so loud and above Difabio and Nams cries in the theater at the end...LOL

:lol :lol :lol :rotfl:lecture

While not as Nightwing, but as Batman, I still think this is the way to go if WB wants to put ***** in seats. It's a way to give the Nolancompoops a nod while giving those of us who're tired of Bale's Wayne, a fresh Batman.

I will agree on that if done right...although a Cameo by Bale would be cool IMHO

Your opinion will change when you move from Pull-Ups to real chonies. :wink1:

In all seriousness though, there's no way they can do an origin movie, or even have Wayne as Batman without having it compared to BB and I doubt they could top it. So why not just avoid it all together and save everybody the ****ing migraine? :huh

I already explained how: Have Bruce come out of retirement to face off against a global threat with the Justice League.
