Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Now I'm confused, I swear I read April-May somwhere :lol

Nope. From the Blurb:

The shocker was, in response to a question, Oldman, in a moment that felt like somebody somewhere is going "AW CRAP, OLDMAN SPILLED THE BEANS", said that the new Batman film starts filming next year. So there it is. As far as I know, that's the first formal acknowledgment that the third movie is underway.

Reposted:

I think the cue will be similar to TDK. Once we start hearing about New/Villain Castings, like we did with Heath, the countdown will begin. Nolan could easily wrap his film by Spring and have 6 months to prepare for this, but I imagine it will be longer. It always is.

Oldman is a very smart Guy, so if he said next year, that means someone told him that was a rough estimate projection. Warners clearly gagged him, not wanting to hold to any News this early. I think the best we can glean from this is that a 3rd film is in the very early stages and of course Gary will be in it. :blackbat

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I don't care if this isn't Dark Knight success in the B.O. Batman Begins wasn't as strong and still an equally enjoyable film. I just want more good Batman movies and Nolan's making the kind I can really get into.

:lecture:lecture:lecture QFT Let's face it, the 3rd won't make TDK numbers at the BO. Simply, it doesn't have the Joker. I don't care if it breaks records or whatever nonsense people use to qualify if a movie is good or not. I want a 3rd film from Chris Nolan with Bale as Batman. The story needs to conclude from TDK and I only want Nolan and Bale to tackle this story arc.

Didn't see if this was referenced but Jett over at Batman-On-Film asked Oldman about what was said and he told him "I've been a very bad boy today". Makes me think it is true and Warner Bros was like "Dammit Gary! Between you and Michael Cain we can't keep any secrets!"

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

It'll be fine. I trust Nolan. Have faith folks. And don't jump on every rumor. Solid facts will be slow, but forthcoming.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

It's all Bull! I could see LeBoufe as Robin, he has the gay appeal......

Eddie Murphy...... GTFO!

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

"Don't worry folks. If Nolan can't direct it, I'll be on hand to take over".

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I don't think Nolan gets ALL the recognition he deserves. He is an amazing director and is super uber talented. Everyone talks about Bale and Ledger and it seems Nolan takes a backseat to them.

No one can deny Bale's and Ledger's performance in TDK. They are both amazing and Bale is my favorite actor. But Nolan is the one who created this world of Batman and it's being seen through his eyes. Not to mention that he co-wrote the script. I think he deserves more recognition for what he's done with these movies. He deserves just as much credit as Bale and Ledger.

I agree with you mostly, Nolan deserves a lot of credit. I don't give Bale credit anymore because the dude is kind of a ****** after he screwed up T4 just as much as McG did and his performance in TDK was meh.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

What the ^^^^ is this post all about???

What do you mean? Are we slow this morning? It seems pretty clear.....:duh

Robin is in my eyes and a few others annoying and gay, LeBoufe ticks these boxes.

The riddler, Black? Come on..... Don't try and say I'm being racist man. The riddler just needs to be a skinny annoying white dude. Walks in Depp....

Clear now?

Nobody was talking about that. The subject was Nolan returning for a 3rd Batman film. And those bit of casting rumors your talking about? BAD RUMORS! Nobody believes them and I seriously doubt Nolan will use Robin. The character just doesn't fit in with this series IMO.

I can't believe people believe every rumor they here. Do you seriously think Nolan would hire Eddie Murphy for the Riddler? Did you here Cher will play Catwoman :rotfl:lol

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

If Nolan did the Riddler, I think his Riddler would defy what most people think the Riddler would be like, and the casting would equally reflect that. Like imagining Heath Ledger playing the Joker, a Riddler casting would be someone who's style doesn't make you think Riddler, but in Nolan's world it would make for the Riddler and in the end we'd all be like, oh, good choice.

Nolan has a new and refreshing way of presenting the villains of Batman, Joker wasn't anything I would expect hearing the Joker would be the main villain, but it worked. Whoever the villain is in the next film, providing Nolan's the one making it, will defy our expectation. I just hope the villain is secondary again like Begins and Batman himself is the focal point of the story.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I don't doubt we'll all say "WTF!?" to the casting in the 3rd film. But the Eddie Murphy rumor doesn't fit with Nolan's M.O. Too big of a name. Nolan usually likes to work with raw talent, someone just hungry for the right role. It will be someone like Joseph Gordon-Levitt or someone like that even if he uses the Riddler which is not confirmed at all. That's what I like about the way TDK ended, the future is wide open as far as villains to be used.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

It's not even that Eddie's a big name, it's simply that his style of acting would never fit within Nolan's world.

The Riddler in Nolan's world would be a darker version, like the Joker, still true to the origins, but a darker take on it, which is why casting for that role would be something no one would see coming. Johnny Depp could actually work because he has a talent for the dark and the eccentric.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I would love to see Depp as Riddler (been a huge fan since Ed Wood) but for some reason I don't think it will happen unless the suits as Warner start dictating cast. The only problem with Depp would be that we as the audience would have a preconceived notion of what to expect as far what the character will be like. Not to take anything away from Johnny Depp, he's one of the greatest actors working today, but having Johnny Depp as the Riddler I feel like I would know what to expect. Cillian Murphy as the Scarecrow? Heath Ledger as the Joker? Had no idea of what to expect going in of how the actor and Nolan will interpret the role. That's the kind of casting I think Nolan will use. However I would love it if Depp got to play the Riddler!

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

There are rumours that Nolan's movie Inception is actually Batman 3, filming under a fake name. It has a bigger budget than the Dark Knight, around $200 million. Nolan has informed the cast not to talk about the movie, so all we know is that it's a Sci-Fi actioner.
Could Leonardo DiCaprio be the Riddler ?
That being said, the last pics I saw of Bale, he did not look to be in Batman shape
