Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The brown 'sepia' tone is there to accentuate the feeling of a 'beginning' of something, like an old photograph

In TDK the hue is a dull blue which is the same as one of the big inspirations for TDK: 'Heat', it adds to the crime drama sort of feel they were going for

From the last trailer and the posters, in 'Rises' it seems the hue is going to be a washed out, monochromatic sort of colour, I think that will be to add to the feeling of gloom and hopelessness

that's interesting,

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I was a bit underwhelmed when I saw that new trailer online the other day, but I caught it before The Avengers today, and hearing that Bane chant in a theater with the trailer on the bigscreen was chilling.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I don't think the LoS would ever consider teaming up with the Joker - he's far too unpredictable. The Joker simply wants chaos, and he wants to show the 'do gooders' that there's no point in their actions, because at the end of the day, people will act like animals if the incentives line up for them to act that way.

He has no interest in seeing Gotham destroyed or in killing Batman, just in proving everyone wrong.

Bane, while we do not know exactly what his motivation is, comes across as someone who just wants to destroy Bruce and Batman, and he doesn't just want to kill Batman, he wants him to suffer as much as possible by destroying Gotham completely, and letting Wayne watch helplessly as he does it, before killing him. His motivation for wanting to do this could possibly be something to do with Ra's i'm guessing, but we'll see.

There's quite a big difference there, IMO

Ra's and Joker have teamed up several times in the comics. But that's in the comic book universe. In fact a lot of what I've seen so far in the trailers leads me to believe Nolan took some inspiration from Batman #400, where Ra's breaks out all the inmates of Arkham and Blackgate to create hell for Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

also I hate how the plot of the movie is told to us like 56 times, I really HATE that, the plan to use the machine to evaporate the water, is told by almost everyone, I really hate it when the guys in the building at the end are tellling it, the old guy, I HATE that

:exactly::lecture:exactly:

Yup, a fear that audiences won't understand.

Guess what, TDKR is doing the same already.

I bet WB forced Nolan to change Bane's voice because audiences wouldn't understand even though Nolan had already gone on record before the change saying Bane's story would be clear even if his voice wasn't.

I'm surprised Nolan didn't walk away from TDKR after that very embarrasing public battle which lead to his directing decision being overturned.

Just for full disclosure though, I could be making up all the drama to make Nolan seem like a pretentious little prick. :lol

:lol yeah, that made little sense

See below for your medicine. :lol

Jets can and have crashed from a single seagull. :dunno

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

They didn't show the new trailer with my showing of the Avengers -- but instead showed the teaser trailer? Sucked. :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Could be one of his exploding arrows.....

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Two Face could not survive hours with such an exposed face.

Joker's hair color changes during the robbery scene.

How come people don't bleed in Nolan's Universe...?

Blah blah blah. TDKR is gonna be a summer movie too. So roll with it.

Are you serious. I hope that ____ doesnt go down at regal tommarow.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Regal lastnight had all the new trailers.

Spidey 3D looked great. I'm just talking about the 3D mind you. :lol

It was a lame audience, not one person clapped or even said anything after the TDKR trailer, 98% silence.

Wife and I were the 2% clapping. :lol

2% of awesome > 98% of fail

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It really was void, I don't get how the midnight show for Avengers was pure excitement and 19 hours later it was a lame duck quiet audience.

Midnight show TDKR trailer and Avengers movie brought down the house.

I mean, I do get it, the midnight show are for the fanatics, but I didn't expect just 19 hours later with a sold out theater to be dead, they didn't even clap or laugh in Avengers, how is that even possible.

I enjoy being amongst energetic fans in a theater, hate it when I get people with no souls. :lol

Going to 3rd viewing of Avengers today while wife goes shopping, hope I get a great crowd.

Nam, don't be late. :lol

Lol.....living up here at Pensacola N.A.S. I've heard planes crashing from similar stuff. One of the Marine pilots ran over a fox on the runway and crashed the plane before it even took off. (it wasn't a disaster crash, but it did enough damage to the front landing gear that they wouldn't let the trainee take off)
