Yup, i'll be picking up my EE 3D tomorrow.

I wish they didn't look so human.

I know they did that just for the girls, to give them a handsome Aragorn version of a Hobbit. :lol

Well, it's not often you guys get fugly leading women in movies. :lol

And only two of the dwarves were considered handsome. And I'm sure they had to be very careful they didn't tread into Disney dwarf territory.

I came home to find a square box on my doorstep and I thought maybe Amazon mailed by EE with statue a little early, but it was just from Staples. Poo!

Went to Best Buy and picked up the extended trilogy set. Never seen the films yet with the extra clips. Will have to watch it sometime this weekend or the next.

Looking forward to picking up and watching this tonight!!

The EE commentaries and special features makes you appreciate the Hobbit films on another level compared to just a random viewing. EE AUJ Dwarf segment really extracted each dwarf’s personalities and character designs. You get to know them more so when you watch the films again you see each one as opposed to 13 in one.

Picked up the EE today. Never saw the theatrical version so looking good fwd to watching this Friday night.

Watched the EE last night. SPOILERS>>>>>>>> Although most of it is all battle scenes full credit for PJ and company to find new and creative ways. We all made comments on how many endings ROTK had. I wish BOTFA had a longer drawn out ending. The “back again” part. I would have liked to see Bilbo leave the mountain with Gandalf, Beorn and the Elf king. Maybe picking up the “chest” from the troll hoard. The only disappointment I had was not ending the story arch of the elf king get his crown jewel.

Bottom line. Loved what they put in. Wish they had more of a lengthy ending

Anyway looking forward to the commentary and special features!!

I have all the LOTR EE's on both DVD and Blu, I have the first 2 Hobbit EE's on Blu 3D, but for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to buy the EE of the 5 Armies.

And this is coming from a completionist who bought AOTC, Avengers 2, KOTCS and Spiderman 3, for the sole reason that I have the other movies in that franchise.

PJ I admire ALOT after he has been revealing that this whole Hobbut trilogy was not ready to go as shooting began and had no prep time- explains ALOT of the problems with the trilogy- including the fact the scripts weren't even done as shooting was going on. A real mess and PJ admits it

Yes, it would've helped to postpone it for a year.

If they were under the gun with such a tight shooting schedule, than why expand on the story to such a degree that a late in the game decision was made to turn it into 3 films instead of 2? Would seem that would add quite a bit to the workload.

A lot of things I didn't like about the films were more artistic decisions than script/story decisions. Things like the artificial look of the film vs the look of LOTR and Super Mario Legolas.

I agree. They relied on CGI too much, and it often looked weirdly bad. Like the river scene with the barrels. That was difficult to even watch. Ugh! Don't get me wrong - I actually do enjoy the films. But still...

So Jackson admitted they were just winging it the whole time making the Hobbit films. Sorry if that's been discussed, but I just read it......found it interesting and it explains a lot.

Ooops....someone else posted it today LOL
