The Chev
Super Freak
There's always going to be those. As a whole it's getting great word of mouth.
There was a lot of complaining about the LotR films when they came out too.

You didn't see it because it was very organic and not forced.
To someone who hasn't read the books those scenes don't stick out at all.
There was a lot of complaining about the LotR films when they came out too.
And where did that get them other than a sore throat.

A question to those that said Smaug appears better than in the trailer shots.
Do You mean that CGI render simply looks better and more realistic, or did You noticed some design changes made to him, other than removal of the forelimbs?
wow a lot are ripping this to bits and hate it on other forums, they must hate life or something? for me this was like watching Raiders of the lost ark for the first time. a great film.
Not sure on the design but it was so much more realistic looking that it seemed like a different dragon head to me. I'd have to see the trailer and movie side by side to really judge.
All I know is that he looked MUCH better than this:
I think they may have changed his design a bit. I seem to remember his brow looking a lot different.
I also loved how Smaug said "precious" and the ring went nuts forcing Bilbo to take it off.
So got a chance to see this earlier today, overall I liked it but could have done w/o so much of the additives.
Agreed andI feel like the finished Smaug's eyes were bigger too. It was also creepy how Smaug's senses were so good that he could locate Bilbo even when he was invisible.
Glad to hear it!
Me too!
