ES... BS

I'm still buying this because I love it!!!! If i ever needed to sell and can get at least $450 for it I'll still be happy and if I can't than I'll just keep it..

You guys can tell me I'm a ****** in the tags Of this thread cause its a fact that I am one.But to say that about forum member, jaws who's a class act all this way in this thread, proves you're a bunch of ____ing anonymous _____es.

Would the casual buyer offset this potential drop-off in revenue? Not sure, but I would think that the casual buyer won't be paying $650 too often for non-collectible statues. Again, what makes these statues warrant these prices is largely due to their collectible limited value. If you take that away, they won't be commanding these prices.

Hell of a gamble, ain't it? I don't know if these casual buyers quantify the extra premiums like the Legacy name attached to some pieces. We here know the Stan Winston/Legacy pedigree and all that. How many of these casuals justify that warrants $650 as they browse their comics shop?

"Hey, look over there! A Bowen Hulk! Looks like the one in the comics but much cheaper! A 1/3 of the price!!! They even give you a choice of which one to get with angry or growling face. Cool!!!"

Yeah, that's your casual buyer Sideshow.

Yes it is, they lose sales because of that. I would have bought 2-3 each of Galactus and Wolf but I won't know, I am not the only one who does the same thing also. Why would people buy something from a limited collectible company when they are selling things that aren't limited? That makes no sense.

This post is the essence of the ES problem to me. The only reason you would buy 2-3 of one statue is either to customize(doubt it) or flip. And all of you arguing that the value is important In case you ever have to sell them are foolish... go get a financial advisor and start investing or buying saving bonds... gambling on the success of a statue is foolish. Personally I don't care about ES... I care about displaying kick ass statues like this hulk.

Excellent post!!! :goodpost: some people are in this hobby for wrong reasons. You gotta to remember when you laid your eyes on your first statue, I'm pretty sure at the time You werent thinking about
Resale value.... Some Collectors became Greedy along the way.And this will never be a good reason to collect. And most of the times, those people dont stay in the hobby for long.i've seen them all come and go over the years. The poseurs. While i'm still here enjoying my hobby more than ever.

Wow wow wow woow stop the press! I knew there was a method to your madness shai!
Totally agree with you here pally, collecting in this hobby brings back great memories of me as a child, running to my LCS and picking up the newest comic issue, sprinting home to read it before doing my homework.
I'd love my kids to read the comics i grew up loving and to see them in statues.

I will be ordering this because its the FRAKING BADASS HULK BABY! To much poseur and elite b _____ing going on here. I'll say it again, If you don't like the open ES, DON'T BUY IT and avoid spewing your malice elite hate on the people who are buying because they love the statue.

The only hate I see spewed is towards the people who don't fall in and toe the line of only buying statues to serve some divine purpose towards what I can only perceive as statue gods. :monkey3
If you aren't collecting statues for "the greater good" you are looked down on as a parasite here for expecting a collectible to be...ya know...collectible. :dunno

:lecture That's just their point-of-view. Doesn't mean they're right...

Verdict: Most of you are deemed unworthy to own this Masterpiece of a collectible.Do not PO this on thursday, I repeat, DO NOT ORDER THIS ON THURSDAY...

Also 67% of the people posting in this thread are too cheap or too poor to own a Sideshow Hulk Statue of that Quality.

:rotfl I'm the same way when it comes to metal. I work and am friends with one of Pantera's former security guards. He has a giant tattoo of Diamond Darrell on his chest (that Darrell paid for and was there to see it happen) and yet every time someone brings up the band I go on my diatribe of how Pantera was a glam band and therefore is still a glam band, because the stink of glam never washes off.

I don't know how he puts up with me.

Shai is always good for a laugh and nice pics :monkey5........Jaws must be cool cause he has the greatest movie ever made as his screen name !! :hi5:

Damn straight!!! :hi5:

Yeah bunch of noobs doing that noob thing where they make no noobing sense. I have finally made the ****** Hall of Fame!

Shai if I ever get two Lesbians to pose with any of my statues I will send the photos to you. Ah who am I kidding. If that happens I'll be dead of a heart attack.

Comparing everyday consumable items to something advertised as a collectible. When they are churning these things out till the wheels fall off I guess you'll be saying it's ok cause we buy cheesburgers and they eventually end up as poo. :cuckoo:

Bah! First off I would not call a pair of $200 - $300 pair of sneaks an everyday consumable. Lets try this. What kind of TV do you have? Guess what? In 10 or 15 years that TV will be worthless. Mine will to. However there will be my Maquette Hulk good as new and not as expensive as my TV. I will probably have to buy a few more TVs in my lifetime. But I only will have to buy that one Hulk. Hulk will also be worth more then that TV in 15 or 20 years. Both in $ amount and in sentimental value.

And when I die, the kids will get him and all my other items in my collection.

Thats what the Hulk Statue and all other keepers in my collection mean to me.

Don't collect items that have no meaning to you. It really is not worth it.

I expect the Rambo PF to shoot up in value any time now!

The problem is you can't even be sure this will a closed ES even if they put Limited Edition: TBD on day1.

I placed my order for Galactus Maquette on day1 and I know for sure on day 1 they put Limited Edition: TBD (everybody thought that one would have a closed ES), few days later they changed it to "limited edition" and droped the TBD, and sure enough that one has been confirmed will be an open ES (I called Sideshow CS and asked Sideshow Rep at the Con).

Couple days ago we just found out Sideshow also changed Limited Edition: TBD to just "Limited Edition" for Dark Rider of Mordor PF (regular version) after a few weeks or maybe a few months after the item was up for order with TBD limited edition tag.

So tomorrow if you see Limited Edition: TBD that does not guarantee this WILL have a closed ES. Sideshow could change it anytime they want, which is not cool especially when NRD involves.

:goodpost:
They need to give out that info and not change once money has changed hands. Without NRD that's fine but when people put money down they should be privy to that info. At least they are refunding NRD for Galactus if you phone in about the issue tho. It's good to know that we can do the same for all other pieces including this one.

I think the pricing is fine for the size of the piece, especially if it's a set ES. Then again I ordered Optimus Prime Ex on day 1 so I may be a little nuts. :cuckoo:

Dude its just a point of view. Doesn't mean you're a parasite that's a little extreme. I just don't get the not being a collectible with a open ES. A collectible is anything you collect. Rarity should not factor into your pleasure of a statue. If a statue looks awesome(hulk) it would not look better in your case if 5000 were made or 50 were made.

I would have to agree with that definition of collectible. He was probably taken aback at the amount of hate, insults, labels and namecalling fellow collectors get for stating their opinions.

Some people do collect cheap stamps, coins and dolls on release without them being too pricy or limited, unlike high end statues where you pay a ton for the limited availability.

But pleasure, like pain is subjective.

I'm hoping to send my daughter through Med school by rounding up all the venomsaurus's and cornering the market... putting 1 at a time on eBay is the key...

Wanna buy my 83.4 Venomsauri? I'll give you a good price! Good luck with her med school (avoid the Carribean unis if possible)

Being that I was, and still am, a huge Pantera fan (post power metal) I have this to say to you, sir!

I don't think Hulk can pick up Skinemax at 2am so you are vastly underrating the TV's sentimental value. :lol
