I just checked Sideshow's website and it still says Sideshow "Collectibles" at the top. You can be a fan of the character but don't be a blind one. Only a fool would throw money at a "collectible" and have no interest in it maintaining or increasing in value. To claim some kind of righteousness in not caring in such things because you truely love the character is akin to slapping "hit me again" on your back.

Wanting a "collectible" to have value doesn't make you a poseur, it makes you intelligent.

We buy many things that are expensive that don't keep their value. I buy these things because I enjoy the characters and how they look. It's nice to be able to turn around and sell it for a profit but guess what - Most things you buy you can't turn around and sell for the same price or more. So make sure you like what you get. Some people pay 200.00 or 300.00 for a pair of sneakers. One year later..Worthless. If you are into this for the profit or hope that it will keep it's value then skip the items that have an open ES. Easy as that. If you really REALLY want this you will get it like the other HULK fans will be. But if you are worried about it's value then move on to the next thing.

When I first got into this hobby I had no idea that items would increase in value like they sometimes do. That was a bonus but not the reason I got what I did.

Again, if Sideshow wants to have open ES from here on out then just move to the next company. Someone out there will fill the need of a "closed" ES.



Yes it's a collectable but I look at them more as room decor.

That's what makes it fun IMO the fact that collectibles are limited and rare. Not everybody is going to get one. It feels good to have a rare piece that's sought after but if it's available to everyone it loses it's appeal and certainly IMO isn't worth $600 as this one is for example.

I understand that to a degree. I have my Bruce NTT and it's cool that only 75 were made. But to be honest I would have prefered to pay 650.00 and had it be an open edition. Nothing against the product (It's the best JAWS item out there) but I am not made of money and would have liked to save a chunk of change. I got it not because of how rare it was but because it was the best JAWS item ever made.

I will buy this Hulk because it is IMO the best HULK item ever made.

Excellent post!!! some people are in this hobby for wrong reasons.You gotta to remember when you laid your eyes on your first statue, I'm pretty sure at the time You werent thinking about
Resale value.... Some Collectors became Greedy along the way.And this will never be a good reason to collect.And most of the times, those people dont stay in the hobby for long.i've seen them all come and go over the years. The poseurs. While i'm still here enjoying my hobby more than ever.

I agree with this. I don't look at Venom comiquette and think about how much money I could make off of it. I look at it and it makes me happy and reminds me of how much I like Venom. Same thing goes with this Hulk.
