Yeah I am bagging on him a little. Like I said it started with Sal for me. So that will always be THE hulk in my view.
I understand the love for Kirby as he was the first. But really if sideshow did not take a great deal of artistic licence with the original Hulk PF I don't know if it would be the classic it is today. If it was just a dead on Kirby hulk I am not sure how well it would jave done.......
Now of course for the die hars it would have been still a must buy but would you have loved it as much as SS final product. Because even though there is A LOT of Kirby in that original PF it also strays away from Kirby also ie.... no flat head, color, muscle size, overall size and apperence.
But the eyes nose and mouth are very much Kirby.
It's a great statue to be sure. As of right now it is still one of the top three SS has ever produced. I just wish it was a little less kirby in the face but thats me.
I'll have to put this in another room other than the PF...that corner of the house will sink just from the weight of the awesomeness

Well I guess I'll be getting this too. Just too awesome to ignore.
Hulk maquette is really big, if the black wooden base are same high on the image... Iron Man with the base I come to about 77 cm (30 ") 
Price will be higher than expected, therefore, if one counts all together
+ Legacy Effects Bonus
+ Avengers hype
+ Hulk Performance in the Movie
+ Sideshow price increase
+ Hype around this maquette in all forums, Facebook, etc. (Sideshow can read everything)
= $ 899-999 if not more, very unlikely that the Sideshow will sell for less
Here are my comparison of course is that now all just speculation because we do not know the final size
and Here's a size comparison with the Hulk PF

Well I don't think that the HULK PF is well compared with the IM 1/2 in that picture..... Only a person who have both can tell us what they really look like together

My understanding is this piece is based on the maquette used to make the CGI Hulk, so the base was probably just designed to put Hulk in a familiar context even if not true to the film. There were lots of changes along the way with Hulk too, Hasbro was issued marketing designs that had Hulk in tan pants and they base all of their early products on that, he doesn't wear them in the movie.
