Now we've seen the finished product, which looks amazing, bring it on Sideshow. Maybe they are still busy trying to work out how much $ they can squeeze out of their dedicated followers?
I actually hope the EX is a print, then I can order from a U.K retailer and hopefully save a few quid. Saying that a print of this awesome piece will probably be a must have. You American collectors have it so easy.

I don't think I can live in my own house unless this is displayed in it somewhere upon release.

Wow.

This I can agree with. My whole point is that you can clearly see Ruffalo's face in the Hulk. It gives Hulk's face a very human quality. He doesn't look like an Ape. They may have intended to add some of Kirby's influence to the overall look but to me, he doesn't look like the 1st PF. The 1st PF clearly looks like a Kirby Hulk face. The maquette's face looks different and much better to me. As I said in the last post.....if the faces looked anything alike to me, I would pass on this piece in less than a heart beat. To each their own I guess. Bottom line.....it's an AWESOME looking statue.

Well, I think all anyone's trying to say is that the inspiration for the design is Kirby's art, no one can argue that traits of Ruffalo are in there, I actually hated the new Hulk at first because the early images show all Ruffalo, but as more shots shots up, the Kirby qualities seem to pop more overall and the Ruffalo ones less, which is great, and at least the product manufacturers are getting more Kirby Hulk to the portraits than too much Ruffalo.

I see 100% Jack Kirby's Hulk in the face.

From the large lower lip, protruding lower jaw, tiny nose, long gap between nose and upper lip, shapeless upper lip, very pronounced brow. Man, its 100% Kirby inspired.

Kirby inspired or not I am just glad he does not look to much like Kirby's actual art. Otherwise there would be lots of laughing in the theater and that would make Hulk sad.

But yeah no question he is inspired by kirby but I can see Filip629's point of view also. It's far enough removed from kirby that non kirby fans can get this also.

I have always been a big Sal Buscema fan myself. My first hulk comic was the first time Sal drew for the Incrdible Hulk series #194. I was not aware of this until I saw the digital version of this issue. I always thought it was funny to see the Hulk eating beans.

^^Agree. GIVE US AVENGERS PFs SIDESHOW!!!

Now give us the rest of the team in Avengers outfits Sideshow.

I can't see Sideshow putting out Avengers PFs of Captain America, Thor, or Black Widow for a long time because they obviously don't want to hurt their sales of the current PFs for them. However, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and obviously the Hulk Maquette will be gladly welcomed :D :rock

EDIT: And the new Iron Man suit in maquette form :D

This is beautiful, but I still have my focus on getting the Kirby Hulk PF one day.

It's a great piece. You don't see that kind of quality in Sideshow pieces anymore.

Yeah, his mouth remind me of the kirby hulk. I think this hulk has a little bit of kirby, a little bit of modern, a little bit of Mark.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there imo. This isn't 100% anything, anyone who makes that statement is going too extreme. Definitely has influences from multiple places including Mark and Kirby.

Because we'd hate to spend big $$$ on a statue and then see it bottom out in the aftermarket. Who likes knowing there pieces are selling for hundreds less than they paid for them? It's not just about re-selling. We can buy it later at a cheaper price and use the extra savings for another statue we may like.

If ES didn't mean anything, SSC and any other company wouldn't waste time creating them in the 1st place.

:goodpost: There's a fine line between a limited edition collectible and an overpriced overly mass produced hunk of polystone.
