Success! Finally found a Wal-Mart that had Indy stuff, picked up both 12" Indys. Thought about the Swordsman too for a moment, he looks damn good, but passed. I was hoping to get a few of the smaller figures for the relics, but they were picked clean already.

I was expecting to like the whip-action figure better, but surprisingly the talking Indy was the better toy. Despite the dubious sculpt, the talking gimmick actually works quite well and the articulation is decent. If I'd gotten this thing as a kid, I'd have been over the moon. The action feature on the whip-action figure pretty much ruins it, but the headsculpt and paint are shockingly good for a Hasbro figure, easily on par with the better Dragon heads.

I cherry picked the best pieces from each one, and popped them onto a Dragon body. Now I have a pretty good Cairo Indy to go with my coming Sideshow version. Wish I had a camera to take pics, I think people would be really surprised to see how good the whip-action head and the clothing and gear can look on a decent body.

I now have the Cargo Truck, all 17 of the single-carded figures and all of the 12" figures I was interested in. Just need to find the Deluxe figures I want and I'm all set for now. :rock

BTW, I'm ripping the electronics out of my Talking Indy and figuring out a way to bash them into one of my Sideshow Indy figures when they finally come. :monkey1

Any combination will do. All 6 could be the same and it wouldn't matter.

alright thanks, I remembered that with one of the star wars send off they had to be different stickers, but then they changed that later on since certain ones werent selling...or something like that.

My US Wally-world across the border had the pages up on the pegs for re-organizing the toy section so I saw where they plan on putting the Indy stuff (right where the leftover Transformers stuff is)-- but then at the pace they go at that could be next week. So still no luck on the Wave 2 figs.

Which deluxe figs were you looking for Irish?... I got both of the Indy ones (swinging over spikes and the idol one) and they're both worth it just for the display option (they connect together).

Anyone know when the big Temple (the re-done Mustafar SW playset) is being released? I plan on getting that and posing the majority of the figs around and on it.

I might be interested in those, but I'm really looking for the other two Indy sets (as Cairo Digger w/ The Ark & Indy on Horse) as well as the German Soldier 2-Pack. My Cargo Truck Chase scene is essential. :p

No until later in the Summer.

I got those three as well. Indy fits precariously on the horse but he holds the gun well for a recreation of that scene. The two German Soldiers are OK (I'm going to pick up two more of the single ones so that I can get 3 Sankara stones 1/6--roughly) and the Indy Cairo digger is nice but I wish it had two things-- the staff (obviously) and also two poles that would allow Indy and Sallah to actually carry the Ark. But it is a nice ark.

Well, I have picked up 9 of the single carded figs so far, including:

Sallah, Belloq, Cairo Swordsman, Money Man and Indy with Horse set - still need to get Marion, and the single carded German fig....In my parts, Sallah is the hard one to find - I have seen him once only

in the KotCS series,I am digging Cemetery (can you believe Hasbro put a Jango head under the mask!?! They are clone crazy!!! - just kidding! :D)
I actually like the Indy figs from this set better than the Raiders one - it has a much better paint job for most figs I have seen... I cannot bring myself to buy a Mutt fig....

I agree with most that the paintjobs range from decent to OMG-awful! I see more issues with the Indy, German and Russian figs than the others.....

Can't wait to get the Deluxe German set, and German with Motorcycle .....

The German on the motorcycle is really cool. The TRU where I bought my stuff (all of the ROTLA stuff-- they had none from the new movie) just put them out literally two hours before I got there (as the salesgirl told me) so they had everything in at least triplicate.

Speaking of which, my redemption forms (and checks) for the 1/6 Ark and Crystal Skeleton figure are now in the mail. :rock

I've got my redemption ticket out for the crystal skeleton too. :) I think this is a nice improvement over how mail-away's used to be handled in the days of POTF2 Star Wars. the sticker thing was kinda fun

These figures are all great! I love them. Sure, they look absolutely funky in hi-res photos, but in person they're a delight! an Indy fan's dream! I've been playing with these things since Thursday.

still can't find a Marion in either the single figs or the two packs. :( No Maproom Indy or Nazi two packs either....but all in good time.

Great minds think alike. I'm doing the same thing. Not sure if I'll put this in the Prometheus body or not.

I've seen lots of the various 12" figures, except only 1 Swordsman. He seems to be the most popular with Mutt and the German bringing up the rear.

I've got enough stamps for the Ark ,but still trying to decide what 3 3/4s to open to get the skeleton mail away. Raiders & Skull Indy, Marion then 3 more.... ?

The neat thing about the German soldier on the motorbike is that he's got joint movement at both the arms and legs, his helmet is removeable, and in addition to the bigger gun with the strap he's also got a luger sidearm in his holster. It's a good figure and in addition it comes with the bike--- I'm going to buy a second when I see them again (how many were there in the TLC chase?... maybe I'll need to buy two more:D).

Cool about the german on cycle. I bet the Indy w/ dad in sidecar will happen eventually.

Hey Irish, if you get the chance can you post a picture of the various relics the 3 3/4 fig come with? The amulet and urn pics you posted at the start of this thread were great.

I'll prolly get the remainder of the 6 fig I need based on the relics. I'm thinking Monkey Man - urn, Spalko - Skull, and maybe German - Sankara stone or Belloq - idol in addition to CS Indy - diamond, Marion - amulet and Radiers Indy - temple sculpture.

I tried each one in one of my 1/6 Bonds (specifically my Legacy Connery as I wanted to see the Nurhachi Urn in the hand of a ToD white tux wearer) and they looked good. I think the amulet that comes with Marion might be a little too big for 1/6 but the idol, urn, and stone (although that was a little big as well) looked good.

Yeah I'm trying to figure what's closer to 1/6, 1/4 or a completely different scale. I'm sure the skull and idol and a few others aren't 1/6 or 1/4. Seeing them all side by side would help.

I went to my local Walmart (Bless Texas, there are Walmarts every six miles - no joke) and picked up the single carded German and the German with Motorcycle - he looks absolutely great.

The Marions at this store had sloppy paint apps, so I held off on her for now.

The single carded Russian soldier seems to be a bit hard to find!

Tomorrow I will try to find the deluxe German set and a decent Marion and I may be set for a bit.

I want the single carded Indy with idol, but the ones I have seen have very sloppy paint apps so far.

I just picked up:

12" Whip Action Indy
Cairo Swordsman
and Indy w/Ark set

I was thinking of getting the Indy w/Idol or the spiked one, but wasn't to happy seeing the leg articulation on it.

Sure thing! I'll do it some time tomorrow. I have all of the 17 relics now. It would probably be cool to snap some pics of all of 'em together. :duff

BTW, I successfully removed the electronics from within the Talking Indy earlier today. If I can figure out an alternative powering method (other than the AA batteries) I actually think we might be able to make this work with the Prometheus somehow...

Cool thanks a group shot would be great.

One could always use the talking Buck body, but the head would have to be adapted and it would all be a step backwards. I don't think a bunch of watch batteries would give enough power. I dunno about the power source and still maintain articulation. Maybe a AA battery in each leg? ha
