I haven't rewatched RO in a bit, but the weathering on this guy reminds me of the dirtied up Stormtrooper that was in the prison transport with Jyn in the beginning of the movie.

Watched RO over the weekend......such a great flic. I simply enjoy having multiple storm trooper options, clean, weathered various gear etc. Gives it more a feeling of a true military organization.

Rogue one is so underrated it’s criminal.

No one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans. This is the way.

:lecture

I'd place it along with Solo at 4 or 5 after the OT, and The Mandalorian could jump in at 6 making an odd sort of trilogy.

The Sequels don't really register with me as being in the universe that George built, and the Prequels even drop out of it whenever there's a Roger Roger or a Gungan on screen.

The Prequels do come properly alive though in the Silent Serial edits.

Same here...............just dig dirty troopers.

All those Mandalorian catchphrases are getting old.

I have spoken.

Agree. So lets bring back a classic: yo momma!!!

It's easily my fav of the new Disney SW movies. Looking forward to the prequel show on Disney +

Good call, and these are the RO bodies Hot Toys used from what it seems. Is the helmet the same too? Unfortunately I was never a big fan of Hot Toys' take on those.

Yeah, it was unfortunate that HT messed up the RO helmet (though they have messed up the ANH and ROTJ sculpts too,) especially now they are reusing it for this release. This particular Mando costume would have been awesome to have seen a new sculpt for, but it seems like an easy straight re-release.

Might as well plan on an entire damn Imperial remnant squad now. Bring on Herzog, Gus Fring, and please, please Kuiil!

Not the remnant trooper but it?s the same figure. Didn?t want to sift through pages so figured I?d post it here. Finally got my hands on a regular Rogue One Stormtrooper. My favorite standard ST. Got this BNIB. Beyond stoked to be getting 2 of these remnant troopers when they come out. Hoping the August release date happens. That?d make it next month in HK.

How can the remnant trooper design be the same as the R1? Hasn't there been about 20 years elapsed in between?

Didn't The Mandalorian just pick up the props left over from Rogue One?

In any case, here's the correct thread: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175680

If you want to find anything in this forum nowadays just Google it - which is probably just as fast as a working forum search function would be in this place.

I think Mando takes place roughly 9 years after the first Death Stars destruction. I know the HT figure of remnant will be the R1 normal stormtrooper weathered.

It’s more about the props. The Mandalorian uses Stormtrooper armor from various sources including Rogue One props, ANOVOS, and some fan-made 501st.

And it’s 9 years. The Mandalorian takes place 5 years after the Battle of Endor, which is 4 years after the Battle of Yavin.

This has been raised before. It is a valid point though.

Going purely from timeline Mando Stormtroopers would have had armour like ROTJ not Rogue One. I need to watch it again, but seems Mando got cheap in their props then.

Personally if I was Hot Toys I would have used the ROTJ armour for the Remnant Trooper. It looks better as well.

Those "sunglasses eyes" don't look right to me on the Rogue One troopers.

The 501st brought their own armour to the set, so they're more likely to be OT clad.

For the dirtied up Remnant troopers they probably used the props from Rogue One.
