I see it funny fans tearing SW down and expect it to be 100% compliant with all sciences (from physics to human psychology). SW is fantasy, not even sci-fi. Those who seek hard core reality can watch excellent documentaries by BBC.
No one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans. This is the way.

Jyn had a riot baton and ran out into the open to beat up or shoot multiple troopers. Chirrut even more so with a stick.

Yeah, if this was Game of Thrones the Metalsmith would have been shot repeatedly in the back, but since it's not ... she was dual-wielding very heavy implements in very close quarters.

And the stormtroopers were bad people.

Well, she looked like she was praying or something, so I can see why they wouldn't take her seriously. That last ax crunch to the head was very satisfying.

I'd PO a 1/6 Armourer in a nanosecond.

I think the problem is that the movies don't at all match fan expectations much of the time, the fans want to see X but the people who MAKE the movies are usually not actual fans, so they make Y and then wonder why people scream.

I just now, finally saw The Last Jedi the night before last, and am full of.... feelings, which I'll keep to myself.

I think Mandalorian is actually what people want to see when they think "Star Wars," it'd be nice if we could get more producers to understand that.

Currently trying to sit through "Revenge of the Sith," god I hate Anakin so very, very much.

This is something I‘ve always said. I think people who just casually enjoy SW are able to enjoy it more than people who are ardent fans. I personally think it’s because ardent fans have higher expectations, since they’re more emotionally invested in it; usually because they associate it with their childhood. Understandable.

SW as a whole for me personally is just a mere interest and hobby. I don’t really get too invested in it emotionally. Some films from it I like, others I don’t. The ones where I don’t, I don’t fly into a rage over it.

I agree. We see the old fans bashing every movie that came after the OT. Their decade long bashing of the prequels is probably what caused Lucas to not make the sequel trilogy. Everytime hot toys announce a figure for the sequel trilogy we have the usual suspects decending en masse to flood the thread with negativity because hot toys dared to support the new movies with figures.

Fixed that for you.

No one complains more about anything on this board than people complaining about people complaining about Star Wars.

I’ll do you one better: no one complains more about anything on this board than people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about SW.

I wish to go on record in saying that those that complain loudest are those complaining about the complainers who are complaining about those complaining...

I think...

:monkey5

Because other people in this thread were having an actual interesting conversation, not the tired old "everybody is a hater" discussion.

About stormtroopers? I was part of that “interesting conversation.” However, expounding on the true statement of “nobody hates SW more than SW fans” and why this is after it was brought up, is also an interesting conversation.

You're free to have it with anyone else.

Indeed. Which is why I was having it with everyone else who was discussing it. I wasn’t the one who brought it up.

If you feel that isn’t an interesting discussion, you’re free to wait until it passes instead of contributing to it as you did, then claiming that you don’t want to talk about it.
