Have you been reading this forum, or following the internet in general? To be clear, I'm not saying that ALL people who like TLJ are lobbing criticism toward The Mandalorian, but the loudest criticism that is forthcoming is generally tied to that group.

Yeah. My observation has been almost universal praise, to most everyone?s amazement.

Exactly. SINCE the Clone Wars. Not before. Not explicitly stated DURING either.

It was explicitly stated though. We saw Mando as a child during the CW and he flat out tells the widow that that's when he put the helmet without ever showing anyone his face since.

Sure Favreau and Filoni worked on those cartoons but they had no power to overrule any of George's demands regarding the Mandalorians that they didn't agree with until now. Even if you want to try and handwave the timeline by saying that they didn't start hiding their faces until midway through the CW then how do you explain Sabine in Rebels? She's way after the CW and based on screenshots I've seen of the show she ran into other mandos who took their masks off too.

It just doesn't sync up. Like Cap said with HYDRA/SHIELD "the whole thing goes," lol. AOTC Jango/Boba, CW Mandos, Rebel Mandos, all stricken from canon. :D

It's a pity I'll have to strike Mandalorian from my personal canon as soon as it references the FO, Starkiller Base, Snoke or Kylo Ren :( :lol

I liked TLJ and I am really enjoying The Mandalorian. I am curious to know, specifically, on what you are basing this generalization.

It is a silly generalization to make.

Look at me for example there are only 2 SW movies that I love 100%, ANH/ESB.

The rest all varies.

In other words our brains are more than fully capable of liking and disliking parts of the same movie.

Yes there are parts of PT, ST, RO and Solo that I absolutely love and absolutely loathe.

It doesn?t have to be so black and white.

Truth is, this is a fantasy series, this isn't the first thing like this in Star Wars (i.e. - "Vader betrayed and murdered your father" doesn't fly either - not by a long shot). I recommend enjoying the good and just letting go of the bad, otherwise it will eat away at you like a dianoga in a trash compactor. It's a shame that so many people involve in Star Wars (creators and fans) seem so devisive, but eh - what can you do?

Star Wars need only make as much sense as the cliffhanger serials of the 30's to '50s, which Lucas (and Spielberg) had watched, and inspired the creation of Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You can pick holes in any long running series, from the simple starting point that the heroes cram far too many adventures into their lives! It's non-stop action for the characters because they exist only to entertain. There's so much to their lives, either official canon or 'legends', that the viewer/reader can just as easily pick and choose what they want to fit their own version of the canon.

This isn't related to the show, but indulge me...

Am I nuts or is the the $20 Black Series figure way better than the $65 SHF figure? The ugly cape and undersized head are inexcusable for that kind of money.

Or the Mando FO references can just be from the alternate ST where the main heroes go on adventures together and share stories of how fun it is to be successful Jedi Masters, parents, etc., lol.

Once you declare yourself a Mando fan you can never go back to TLJ. That is the way.

Oh I know a crazy amount of mental gymnastics/hand waving are required for even the OT to work and believe me if I loved AOTC/CW I'd be coming up with whatever crazy explanations I'd need to connect them to Mando, lol. I mean here's an easy one: "Jango and Pre Viszla were loser Mandalorians who sucked at following the code and took their helmets off all the time." Done, lol. But....rather than coming up with something myself in this instance I'll just choose to take Mando's words at face value so that I can strike the stuff I don't like from canon all the easier. ;)

Oh yes I totally agree and I've even commented how so much of Mando seems set up like a video game. Look at the female armorsmith. Just sitting on her little pillow apparently motionless for days on end like the old guy with the wooden sword in the Zelda games just waiting for the hero to come and need something, lol. But so what, it's still awesome and I don't care. :lol

Just literally put ONE scene of Luke Leia Han Chewbacca R2 C-3PO Vader and Palpatine in Mando flashbacks whatever and DONE the ST are no longer needed we have our new ST!

ST Instantly wiped out of existence
