Other then the Big Sand worm I dont think the show feels like a big budget movie.. I still think it has the feel of a TV show.

Again I think I blame the musical score.. It plays too quiet or something.. It does not suck me in.. Nothing about the show really does. :(

I understand. It?s a show that it entertaining, but aside from the initial reveal of the Child, has been pretty predictable.

I just love the Universe is a fun watch. It?s no Firefly.

Well I just went ahead and watched it.

I don't know there is just something about the show that does not fully grab me. It just feels too much like an older TV show. Much of that has to do with the music. Ive said that before but the music is a big reason for that TV feel.

I found my self LOLing at the Mando / Tuskan raider dialogue.. Was that supposed to be kind of stupid / funny [emoji38]

The Marshal telling his story while riding on Anakin's Pod racer parts made me roll my eyes.. I hate when movies and shows act like talking from vehicle to vehicle is just like sitting at a table.

Skinny Arms and legs Gamorrean Guards [emoji38]

Giant sand worm coming at Mondo and Marshal.. Plain as day.. and Mando says "there it is" lol.. Thanks captain obvious.

While I do not mind this.. People that love the show should not complain about any fan service in the ST / PT / or spin offs.. I mean R5-D4, Gamorrean Guards, Anakin's Pod racer engine.. I dont mind fan service.. It always makes me smile for the most part so I never understand why people complain about it. Well except for the Pando Baba and Cornelius Evazn in RO... Ugh I hated that one.

I cant help but think of The Holiday special and Bea Arthur every time Mando meets up with that old lady on Tatooine.. She just feels so out of place.

I did like TO being in the show as I have always liked him as an actor.

The Sand worm thing was very cool.

I loved the subtle change of the aspect ratio to help the creature look bigger.. That was awesome!!!

Overall it was ok... I really hope the show starts dealing more with the recurring villain.. I am not a huge fan of the Adventure of the week style of storytelling that the show has been doing.. I need more of a running storyline.

I think if I was a bigger fan of Mando as a character it would help. Not ever seeing his face does not help. Hard to warm up to him as a character. He's OK but I would think after 9 episodes I would be more invested.

Its an easy enough watch as I love the SW Universe. I just don't get the huge amounts of love that it gets.

6.5/10

5 full points for super awesome Sand worm and the way it was shot.
Absolutely! Couldn't agree more. I watch because it's Star Wars. Don't think I'd watch otherwise.

Glad you found my post, because I was just about to regurgitate it in response to what you wrote.

And yeah, Mos Eisley woman is irritating and just does not fit in the Star Wars Galaxy. I can't put my finger on it, but much of the dialogue for secondary characters feels very lazily written and too contemporary, or inorganic to this film world. Not that the PT dialogue was better, it wasn't, it was atrocious, but it fit more.

Fun filler episode but that's pretty much what this entire series is, lol.

It was great seeing these unused McQuarrie beasties come to life.

The Child was a real ******* in this episode. Murdering all those eggs of a nearly extinct species. Was that supposed to be cute?

Maybe he really is a Dark side user....and Mando's final test is going to be putting him down once and for all.

Well Favreau wrote both episodes, so I don't think Reed is solely to blame for this being weaker...

Don't think it was weaker at all, since I look at the entire series as kind of a long movie. And IMO a good movie has "beats" to it - like if you watch Iron Man 1 there's a rythm from action scenes to more interpersonal to action etc.

Was hoping for something "calmer" and more interpersonal without really knowing how it would look, and that's what I got, more or less.

Stuff I liked:
1. Cheeky; reminded me of Season 1 episode 2. Like when the jetpack fell over.:lol
2. Mando being just a guy, kind've, got to talk I think more than I've even heard him.
3. Humor is never easy - there I was expecting some beautiful Force scene *cue music* where Baby uses the Force to bring forth the tadpoles, or something, and then he gobbles like caviar. Laughed my @ss off. Child was hilarious.:rotfl
4. It's true obviously Mando has strong feelings about the Child, but liked the Dad thing was pretty spelled out.
5. Bein' a Rebels fan couldn't be happier to see the ice spiders (look like relatives of Kryka spiders - especially the one chomping on the glass with the mouth up close.)
6. The heroine was a friggin' frog WTF but somehow had dignity anyway.
7. Mando is such a badass - luv the character's dry attitude. Yeah, I noticed the man hiked through a desert with a *&^%load of stuff; don't know if that was a swipe at anyone non-Mandalorian who are like, not Mandalorian iron men/women, I guess. This is the Way.
8. Good pacing don't think I looked away once. Also happy to see Mechanic again - I like her.
9. Felt like I was being trolled by Favreau, Filoni, and Reed a bit and I LIKED it.:lol:monkey3
10. Happy it got more back to basics like season 1. And now I have an excuse to use a snow dio stand for my 1/6 Mandos.:monkey3

Con:
Thought the save was a tad weak; serviceable; tho. Was expecting something all dramatic like other Mandalorians to appear:cool:. Nice they stepped aside from a trope scene where pilots help out, and instead it's kinda FU. Lol. But it was a good touch re the new regime not being weak either - even if Mando doesn't think much of it. IMO Peyton Reed delivered.:clap

Luv this show.:cool::love

Those scenes were inserted to trigger Frog Lives Matter SJW's. ;)

Black humor to be sure. Though I don't believe that they said the Gecko chick's species was nearly extinct, only that she was nearing the end of her own life-cycle.

It was a little weird to hear Mando call her a frog though. I believe that may be the first utterance of an Earth animal's name in SW.

His recovery from the speeder crash was freaking awesome. Loved the nod to Road Warrior with him carrying the gear on his shoulders.

He's a baby, he has no moral compass, it's made clear that Mando isn't the best person to be caring for him, which is why he is trying to reunite him with his own kind. Also pretty sure it's not the species going extinct, I'm sure she said it's just the last in her bloodline.

We were all ****s as children.
