True absolutely true but Disney didn’t own SW back in 83 and I also find that unlike the Ewoks BY was instantly loved so i’m still surprised that Disney has turned him into a fetus eating cannibal lol

Ohhh look how cute his little cheeks are......

OMG HOLY CRAP! lol

And it wasn't even a one time gag. Unborn child after unborn child gone. Chomp. Chomp. Chomp. Then chomp, smile, burp. :lol It was funny in the show and now watching people white knighting over fictional unfertilized frog eggs makes it even funnier. Bravo Favreau, lol.

Mando himself isn't exactly the nicest guy either. He was literally seconds away from murdering an innocent marshal over the guy's *outfit* until the Krayt showed up. That's something I would picture Fett himself walking into town and doing at the height of his evilness.

Plus tricking the cyclops guy into thinking that his life would be spared only to surprise him with a horrifyingly gruesome death where he's eaten alive, face first? Damn that's some cold ****....

Well I just went ahead and watched it.

I don't know there is just something about the show that does not fully grab me. It just feels too much like an older TV show. Much of that has to do with the music. Ive said that before but the music is a big reason for that TV feel.

I found my self LOLing at the Mando / Tuskan raider dialogue.. Was that supposed to be kind of stupid / funny :lol

The Marshal telling his story while riding on Anakin's Pod racer parts made me roll my eyes.. I hate when movies and shows act like talking from vehicle to vehicle is just like sitting at a table.

Skinny Arms and legs Gamorrean Guards :lol

Giant sand worm coming at Mondo and Marshal.. Plain as day.. and Mando says "there it is" lol.. Thanks captain obvious.

While I do not mind this.. People that love the show should not complain about any fan service in the ST / PT / or spin offs.. I mean R5-D4, Gamorrean Guards, Anakin's Pod racer engine.. I dont mind fan service.. It always makes me smile for the most part so I never understand why people complain about it. Well except for the Pando Baba and Cornelius Evazn in RO... Ugh I hated that one.

I cant help but think of The Holiday special and Bea Arthur every time Mando meets up with that old lady on Tatooine.. She just feels so out of place.

I did like TO being in the show as I have always liked him as an actor.

The Sand worm thing was very cool.

I loved the subtle change of the aspect ratio to help the creature look bigger.. That was awesome!!!

Overall it was ok... I really hope the show starts dealing more with the recurring villain.. I am not a huge fan of the Adventure of the week style of storytelling that the show has been doing.. I need more of a running storyline.

I think if I was a bigger fan of Mando as a character it would help. Not ever seeing his face does not help. Hard to warm up to him as a character. He's OK but I would think after 9 episodes I would be more invested.

Its an easy enough watch as I love the SW Universe. I just don't get the huge amounts of love that it gets.

6.5/10

5 full points for super awesome Sand worm and the way it was shot.

Absolutely! Couldn't agree more. I watch because it's Star Wars. Don't think I'd watch otherwise.

Glad you found my post, because I was just about to regurgitate it in response to what you wrote.

And yeah, Mos Eisley woman is irritating and just does not fit in the Star Wars Galaxy. I can't put my finger on it, but much of the dialogue for secondary characters feels very lazily written and too contemporary, or inorganic to this film world. Not that the PT dialogue was better, it wasn't, it was atrocious, but it fit more.

I really can't refute any of your guys' complaints. Everything you're saying is correct, I just happen to find the things that put you guys off as just another part of the show's charm.

What a waste of an episode. Good to know it is skippable on repeat viewings of the series. A bad example of filler. Nothing of importance to further the narrative during the entire episode. Was surprised to see Favreau was the writer as the credits rolled.

Just a waste of money and special effects . What are we building towards besides fan service the first season suffered from the same thing final two episodes were the thr best the rest is nothing but filler.

To me the best stories are those that fill the gaps between the movies. This stuff is going no where.

Yep Mando is cold. I like the jetpack kill in this episode. Good role model to Yodel for ruthlessness.

I actually enjoyed the episode and I hate spiders. Potentially a filler episode but I think the Crest being unusable will be a plot device they are setting up. They did manage to tie in the most filler episode of last season into this episode so this could be considered the sub story to the main story. Just because it’s not that story most are interested in doesn’t mean it isn’t going somewhere significant.

Interesting news that supposedly a Boba Fett series will start filming as early as next week! Could that be the first of the spin off series that were rumored to come out of this season? That one shot of Fett might be all he has in this series or perhaps he’ll be tracking Mando to get his armor back? Lots of potential there really. For such a loved character Boba hasn’t had much chance to be studied in filmed mediums, mostly comics and other printed materials.

Mando flying away at the end reminded of yet another 80s callback...

I enjoyed it. Not as quality as 9 but still good. The opening scene on Tatooine was excellent. Loved the spider creatures. Didn’t care for the mechanic lady scenes. Her character is really annoying to me and everything she says and does seems forced. Still hate the music though.

Watching the kid slurp down egg after egg...priceless.

 But gotta admit Mando gives folks a choice. A lot of the time. They choose poorly. Like telling a Mandalorian to their face they'd attacked coverts for the beskar. The man is a saint with the *^*# he puts up with.

After rewatching gonna add the flight chase to the list of stuff I luv about this episode. Spectacular :clap. Did Mando srsly put the Crest into a free fall and then refire the engines? More amazing visuals. And small stuff like Baby's disdain for his MRE vs. the tank of nice plump eggs:monkey3

I think calling something filler is just a lazy criticism.

He needs to find other Mandalorians. Frog Lady claims her husband knows where to find them, so he needs to help her in exchange for the information.

They are on their way there, or would you rather he just teleport from place to place and complete his goals in one episode? I dont think that slow pacing necessarily equates to filler.

What you call filler, I call world building. Plenty of new lore and info packed into this episode. We get go see more of the New Republic.

I suppose Luke going to Dagobah was just filler, especially since he gave up. He should have skipped that entirely, let his friends stay as prisoners and went straight to kill the Emperor.

Yeah, Mando is straight up savage, but as the twist ending revealed, his moments of mercy and good judgment rewarded him, and prove he isn't just a mindless killing machine.

YOU people, however, are ALL MURDERERS and you're ALL GOING TO HELL.

I think this was the first Star Wars horror movie it scared the crap out of my son he hates spiders lol

Baby Yoda eating a baby spider with stringy crap and legs hanging out of his mouth has to be one of the most disgusting things i?ve seen in quite awhile......and it came from SW!

SW!

And not just SW but from baby yoda the most adorable creation ever!

Is Disney now going to release a baby yoda, their fabulous new adorable cash cow, with spider crap sticking out of his mouth lol

The expression on my wife and son face: priceless

Ok you want more specific criticism if I skip this episode and even the one before it am I missing anything. No they dont build on one another they dont add to the over all story the last instruction in season 1 was to search for his kind and we are no where even close to it.

They already said it was going to be a procedural type of show and it. Like those cop shows were every episode is independent. Its nonsense with 8 episodes they cant write a story to fill 8 episodes. World building that's your comment what world he already knows the mechanic and he is not going back to the ice planet . Frog lady what is she another side character now her and her eggs.

People just want to give it a pass because its start wars . Put this up next to any other show its nonsense filled with fan service and great effects.

I only hope the marvel shows are better.

Again, you say we are nowhere even close to his goal, so would you rather he completed it in the first episode? The benefit over a TV show with 8 episodes vs a movie with 2 hours of runtime is that you can take your time by pacing it slower and building up the characters are the world surrounding them.

Worldbuilding doesn't just include the mechanic and the frog lady. It includes building upon the Tuskens and showing more of their culture and showing that they are more than just mindless savages, it's showing that the fall of the Empire wasn't great for everybody, especially those in the Outer Rim as slavers and crime syndicates took it as an opportunity to seize power. A Krayt Dragon can eat an entire Sarlacc. Things are being run differently under the New Republic. Need I go on? Plus it's the second time he's been to that planet, it's the same as the one in the opening to S1E1.

You clearly don't enjoy the show, that's fine, but nobody is giving it a pass just because it's Star Wars. I didn't give the Sequel Trilogy a pass "because it's Star Wars", I didn't give the **** video games from EA a pass "because it's Star Wars", if anybody is going to criticize Star Wars, it's Star Wars fans. Frog Lady is a side character, sure, but again she claims that her husband knows where to find Mandalorians (which is his goal), he needs to help her in order to obtain that information.

Yes, it may be filled with fan service, but it's done well enough that it's not obnoxious. It's a show made by Star Wars fans, for Star Wars fans. Star Wars is nonsense, its cheesy, its goofy, a lot of it doesn't really make any sense. It's part of the charm.
