Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

That's probably going a little far. That being said I will be curious to see how they tie it together.

Yeah, I admit that I was geeking out a bit with that scenario.:lol But your probably right about him and The Necromancer. After all it was Sauron who was responsible for a great deal of the evil in Middle Earth and was trying to draw it all to him. His plans were well in motion at that time.

Love all this talk about the upcoming events. I think the next movie will be even more amazing to see where all the connections go.

Yes, he was. At this point he's just starting to return and get to searching for his ring. That's why he was at Dol Guldur because it was empty and nobody would think of looking for him there while he awaits for Barad-Dúr to be rebuilt. As Galadriel says to Gandalf that these events will fast forward things.

Check out this site. It has great descriptions of all things Middle-earth and a timeline for each character. You can get an idea of where or how these stories will work with each other.

It's fun to talk about things for sure. It's odd though to talk about things and think about not messing things up for GA folks who know little about what has happened.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

The Wargs in both looked good to me. However, the chase scenes in both looked a touch off but I wouldn't call either of them unwatchable ever. I have much bigger issues with say Frodo showing the Ringwraith the ring or Frodo sending Sam away.

Oh, I totally agree with that. The story issues are much more important than any effects.

He's going to end up being a servant of the Necromancer. That's my guess.

Azog? I agree, and that will be the explanation for the music used.

But again, it felt like they we applying the music to Thorin...

I found little Goblin Scribe to be very entertaining for his brief moments on screen. Just the way he cackled psychotically as he zipped down the line, kind of like a gremlin. :D

It reminded me of that little dude that sits next to jabba

Totally. :lol

Yeah, that's a cool site. I stumbled upon it a few years back.

Nice! It seems like a small site that I don't see talked about often. So I'm never sure if anyone knows about it

Cool site indeed. Looking at some stuff now.

Enjoy :rock

I guess I just felt like it was applied to the moment with a bad guy who is doing the work of Sauron/evil.

Thainsbook.net is nice but I still prefer the encyclopedia of Arda. Simply the best source for all things Tolkien.

Encyclopedia of Arda is pretty good as well. I will say I prefer Thain's a bit more.

Anyone have or no of where I can get hold of the best complete map of middle earth/arda?

Weta has a great map of Middle-earth for sale. They also have lots of other maps including the map Thorin receives in the movie.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

****oo-mir is LotR and is not associated with The Hobbit. But since you aren't blackmask I will over look this. :hi5:

:lol I didn't know where else to put it. Though I did put it in the "greatest thread" too. Besides, it was The Hobbit facebook page that posted it. :D

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread *SPOILERS*

Damn! I should've started a thread just for this! ;)
