I doubt they sing. Maybe 1 song might be ok since there was a little in LOTR but for the most part they left those out. So I'm ok with them doing that here.

At this point, shooting starts next month and they have not officially confirmed/announced Hugo Weaving's involvement. Last I heard, he said he was willing to do it but hadn't been approached, which was what Ian McKellen was saying for the longest time. If they have made a deal with him, it's odd that he wasn't announced alongside Cate Blanchett, etc.

I doubt they sing. Maybe 1 song might be ok since there was a little in LOTR but for the most part they left those out. So I'm ok with them doing that here.

They confirmed in the press conference they DO sing. Give it a listen! I'm sure it'll be fine. It'll be tasteful like the singing in LOTR was. Think of Pippin singing, Bilbo, Gandalf...

That press conference was a mess! I couldn't hear a single question that was asked, and only about three or four of the actors were within range of a microphone. Did they not think the world was listening?

They confirmed in the press conference they DO sing. Give it a listen! I'm sure it'll be fine. It'll be tasteful like the singing in LOTR was. Think of Pippin singing, Bilbo, Gandalf...

I took that more as them singing just being goofy around on set type stuff. So thats fine if they do a little like was done in LOTR.

I really enjoyed the incorporation of singing in the trilogy and honestly the only person that I thought was terrible, was Otto.

I even liked her singing. I think it comes across that way because its supposed to be the style of Rohan and she's really really upset.

I won't mind hearing the dwarves sing as long as it is in dwarfish.

It felt more like something a local indie film would do, not something for one of the most anticipated upcoming blockbusters. And the introducer looked liked she'd never been on camera before.
