wow From up close you can see all the mess ups. This is very bad. I mean from a distance you wouldn't notice that and I wouldn't say it's bad overall.. but at 300 smackers and another 100 bucks in shipping and even duties for a lot of us, we should have to see no blemishes of that kind. Speaking outside of the scratches which is an obvious given they shouldn't be there.

Not happy SideShow. Not happy at all.

Mine was scuffed on the thighs, bicep, back and rib cage. Large paint chip from the knuckle that is hitting the ground. Glue reside is also visible around some of the light inserts.

Mine arrived in perfect condition ...of course mine doesnt have to travel very far from SS HQ...

Yeah, how convenient. Look where you're from. Notice a pattern? If you're within the state of California you're doing pretty good. Chances are if you were from New York or Seattle, you wouldn't be feeling the love.

So at the end of the day, the SIM holds up pretty well, but in only short trips. I am beginning to think this is not really the factory's doing but the packaging.

Why else would the mint SIMs be coming mostly from within the California state? hehe

So are these defects enough to initiate a return and ask for a replacement? I hope so.



Edit:
And I know there was some discussion about these defects being caused possibly by moving him before paint was completely cured, but I am very suspicious of those plastic trays. At first I thought you guys were only talking about the yellow pieces of paper by his knees. I didn't realize entire styrofoam cavity was filled with molded plastic that SIM rubs against. I looked at all the areas of damage, and I think that is where the statue came in close contact (i.e. rubbing) with SIM.

Not mint, see my next post for the damage. I didn't even try the lights. He's already boxed back up, so can't take anymore pics with lights on. Plus very sunny in AZ now, would have to wait till night time. I'm going to be contacting SS on monday and see what my options are.

Mine arrived scuffed up in multiple areas. I'm in Arizona, which is fairly close, but I missed the first delivery attempt which would have added some additional transit time.

Now watch Sideshow produce an assload more of these, un-numbered, to replace the mass returns and then fill most of the wait list, because you know they want all that potential profit.

i always wondered if that attributed to all those red/gold fakes that popped up from China. i know the shoulder blade things were backwards but i wondered if making extras to fulfill replacement allowed the extras to be made in the first place.
