Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

Sounds like you may want to switch shipping companies.

Is that an option. I would love to change from Fed Ex (HOME) to UPS. I hate that different Fed Ex organizations can't communicate between each other, stupid outdated, prehistoric business model.

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

I've gotten offers for between $350-$475 shipped for mine... as-is with the flaws and all. So I imagine this is still in good demand and some folks are either cool with the marks or are keen to repaint/customize it.

Just got mine and he's ok, i got paint that rubbed off on his bicep and a little on his back, i e-mailed sidehow on getting another one.:monkey2

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

...Instead, we have some over-complicated plastic molded barrier that probably cost big bucks to implement/measure/cast and is the most likely candidate for causing all this trouble. I know when I put the 2nd half of box back on after taking pics, I was cringing while getting the halves to mate, just knowing that the friction sounds I was hearing was a direct contact of plastic molding "shield" to polystone. ...

...The irony is that Sideshow would likely have SAVED money by simply doing without the plastic inserts and just wrapping the statue in the same foam wrap as the base. They would have saved money and I guarantee most of the products would not have had the flaws we're seeing. Instead, someone came up with a REALLY bad idea that was not only more costly to package... it wound up resulting in a huge defect rate in delivered product. Somebody is in huge doo-doo over this one.

Well said :lol

You can contact SS to ship all items by a certain company, so yes.

Replacements for these are still on the boat from China with more to come next month (split shipment). They have a handful in the warehouse but not more than 5. Some will be getting replacements in this first shipment, others will have to wait for the boat that hasn't left yet. It's gonna be a while for some because of Chinese New Year (Feb. 2-11), then the boat should be leaving after they get back to work.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

It doesn't mean that UPS or Fed Ex won't find a way to **** something up after it leaves SS's warehouse.

Shipping doesn't have anything to do with factory paint flaws/chips or fabric stitching coming undone...

If these things are packed properly, you should be able to toss the box around without damaging the statue. I imagine if you could watch the whole fedex shipping process, you would see these statues get thrown around countless times.

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

got a call from my friend who knows a guy that received his last week. the guy said that the inside of the package had no wrapping around the statue. it was covered in the famous 'goop' and the inside also had the weird clear plastic in the areas where the statue touched packaging. he also said there was more goop in those areas and the paint from rubbing against the plastic had worn off and transfered to the clear plastic. he mentioned most of the places i've seen pictures of in this thread. can it be that the packaging idea for sim was that it will be rubbing inside so grease the areas thinking it would prevent scrapes? please don't tell me that was the plan because that's downright insane! :lol i told him to tell the guy to sell it on ebay as battle-damaged and put a $1000 buy it now. you never know, there's a sucker born every minute. :rotfl
