Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

Can anyone tell me what the hell this mysterious lube is? Why is it there in the first place?

It was around most of my areas of damage and I'm 100% contributed to the issue.

i believe someone quoted ss in one of their blogs that the mysterious goop was an anti-fungal agent. it was recommended that it is removed upon opening your statue with a soft, dry cloth.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

man, i would like to return mine but i don't have the freakin time. I'm always in school and work. My free time is at night when all post offices are closed.

what to do? what to do?

you guys think Sideshow will be willing to give a discounted price on it instead? but then again, the scuff marks are bothersome.

Arghhhhh!!!!

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

the reason people freaked was not because they didn't think that ss would have a problem with a return, it's that there is a possibility that if you return yours, you won't get a replacement. as rory attested, he didn't get an im ls bust replacement. i believe dusty was quoted as replacements would be on a first come basis, which would mean not everyone is guaranteed to get one. :(

I opted for a refund on the Iron Man LS bust because I was not confident that the problems could be or would be corrected on a replacement piece. I think that replacements will be available to all who request one with this particular item though because it seems to me that they will just have to start over and make new ones rather than part out the usual few replacement pieces they make. There are far too many people that received damaged statues so a new run will probably have to be made...I think...I don't work there so I can't tell you what is really happening. :lol

I do know that not everyone received a Captain america Vs. Redskull back though. There were quite a few problems with that statue as well.

Drop it off at a 24 hour Fedex/kinkos. That is what I do. :D

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

So they would have replaced it if you had wanted? That sounds better. I was getting worried about sending it in and not getting one back...Maybe i'll call CS and ask them after I get my shipping label, before I send it back...

Pretty sure they would have but it would have taken quite a while because quite a large number of the busts had the same issues. I was right though about the problems continuing even on the replacements. It turned out that even after a few months when replacements were finally being shipped out that those pieces had the same problems as the initial run. Just something to think about before you return your Stealth. It's all a gamble.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

:rotfl Guy on the podcast said we'd all be happy about the SIM. :rotfl

Wow, seems they exhausted their replacement supply on those as well. I know I had a lot of problems with the Captain America PFs and had to get replacements but I didn't know it was still an issue.

Good luck to you I say and I hope that the same issues that plagued the first batch don't plague the replacements. I am sure you are not alone in waiting.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

I just spoke with Inthia and Sideshow is more than willing to help me correct the problem. I won't share details because frankly my conversation with them is non of yah business. However, when you call email or whatever if you get a broken one they will surely help you out. So I would suggest calling them before judging. This is not directed at you Zoid by the way. Just like Dusty said. Call them and they will help. Simple! :rock

I too just spoke to Inthia and she was wonderful. I'm going to send her pics of my SIM tonight and she's going to get the RMA going. Replacements are on their way to SS and it appears they have plenty of them and things aren't nearly as bad as we think (Chicken Little). She also said that they would be opening and inspecting replacements before they go out. So while this will add a bit to the time frame, I'm sure everyone would be happy with the extra precaution.

Heard that one before and still had issues with some replacement...

No doubt Sideshow's customer service is wonderful but I do think things are as bad as we presumed. Sounds to me as though they are told to say certain things to calm down their customers and that's understandable.

One thing is for sure though, even if your replacement is checked it doesn't guarantee that it will arrive in proper condition.

It doesn't mean that UPS or Fed Ex won't find a way to **** something up after it leaves SS's warehouse.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

I already have my RMA and he's boxed up ready to be returned. But I have to wait till SS gives me the go ahead, which correspondence mention 60-90 days. I'm fine with waiting some more.

The problem I had was repacking SIM in same suspect container it came in. Just going to add to more scratches.

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

That's precisely it. In manufacturing, anything above a 7-10% defect rate is considered bad. This (60-80%) is a disaster.

Believe me, as bad and frustrated as we feel there are some at Sideshow who feel worse and I'm sure somebody will have to answer for this.

Obviously they haven't yet answered for the Iron Man LSB, because their "genius" plastic tray design made it to the Stealth.

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

Just got my SIM and bad paint scuffs as well.

Wish I could say I am surprised...

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

I wonder what will the response time be....if they are normally 5-10 days behind for "normal" return issues are they to 21-30 days behind now??

I was told 60-90 days

Re: Stealth Iron Man Problems- Post the specific flaws you see on yours.

just got mine and thought i'd lucked out at first. just a tiny lil spot on his tricep about the size of a pin head...then a spot on the armor plating on his back bout as big as a pinky nail...then a nice long scape on his inner thigh. so 3 spots. grr.:monkey2

anyone think i should keep him? i'm afraid i might get one that's worse or none at all.
