Darklord Dave just suggested this, I thought i would post abotu it and look for thoughts.

Forgive if this suggestion has been made - but with a lot of the SIMs being scratched, someone could make a fortune repainting these red/gold. Afterall, a light-up red/gold is what we all wanted anyway, right?

I like your idea.

...If only the lights were YELLOW this idea would be as good as gold.

Damn red lights messing up comic accuracy.

Never gonna happen, so why bother discussing it.

I mean keeping the damaged one and also getting a replacement.

You can keep the damaged one, no one is forcing you to return it.

hehe. i kinda hinted at this idea in an earlier post. in my perfect world SS would refund a certain amount and then i'd find a pro to paint it red/gold. **** blue. hell between the talent and custom uncertakings here and at Statueforum we should easily find someone w/ the painting and airbrush skills to do these justice. maybe another group buy kinda thing!

For those that have these in hand, can you tell if the lights themselves are red or just the plastic lenses that are tinted red? Repainting is straightforward enough, changing out the lights would be a real hassle.

Red LED's are pretty cheap these days. I'm guessing red LED's, AND breast shield also tinted red. But either way, I don't think changing any lights or repainting any light sources would be necessary.

Seriously, this would be a great figure to attempt a sweet paint job on, especially if you were able to get it at the intial 299.

The Pictures I've seen with the ligths off seem very red. I woudl bet it's from red LED's, plus tinted red glass/plastic shield. colored led's is such a cheap option these days.

Thanks! It only took me 2 years. Maybe I'll finally add an avatar to celebrate.

And recasting the led covers and replacing the red leds with yellow ones would be necessary IF you want yellow lights. Why bother repainting if you're going to do it half-assed? I was planning to do this but the nifty blue colors are really growing on me. Wish I could've gotten 2. Anyone got a damaged one they want to sell?

Gonna take a lot of work to control the beast that is the FUBAR SIMs tragedy.

60-90 Business days for replacements....I don't see this topic dying any time soon.
