here's a shot in the dark, ANYONE WANNA REPAINT MY SIM? pro only, pm for quotes!

So- the red leds are not comic book accurate for a light up repaint? What would it take to remove those leds and change them to the correct color?

my exact question too. i'd forgotten that the lights on red/gold IM were yellow (thanks to whoever mentioned that!). so how can that be fixed? when i looked mine over yesterday i was mainly looking for paint flaws but i did get the impression that the light covers were made from red plastic, so changing the LEDs to yellow (if in fact they're red. w/ a red cover the lights might just be clear white) will just give us orange lights lol.

Man, this whole situation really stinks. I have no other option but give a full refund to my buyer since it's the only ethical thing to do. I am not only out paypal fees but also ebay fees due to circumstances beyond my control and now Sideshow gets to keep my money for the whole duration while I have to wait for this product to be replaced. They should pay me interest.

I think the idea of allowing us to keep the damaged ones would be a nice thing to do. We could repaint them to the original colors if we wanted- that would be cool.

It is and it isn't. I would much prefer a refund until my replacement is ready to ship. Those of us that use credit cards will be paying interest on a damaged statue- not that this really should concern Sideshow or anything. I don't believe you can do anything like paint your damaged statue though because that would be considered customer damage.

i know- I am saying that some of us could petition Sideshow to replace our damaged ones, letting us keep the original damaged ones to repaint. Or, they could offer a refund to people like you, forcing you to send your damaged one back.

We could make the choice whether to send it back or not.

Heck- if we keep it, it saves them the cost of shipping the damaged ones back to them.

PIPE DREAM! Flippers would be damaging their statues on purpose

I don't think so- i think sideshow could make a judgement as to what batch/group had the original damage. Or, maybe they look at people who have a history of buying pieces from them in the past. I don't know, I just think it is a waste to see these destroyed when collectors could repaint them.

the flawed pieces will ultimately be destroyed. there shouldn't be any exceptions but we've seen other companies unknowingly have employees resell their damaged products on ebay. :(

i think the only time sideshow will opt the buyer not to ship back to them is when they ask for proof (pictures) of it's destruction. this is usually for overseas customers.

What sucks now is that my base says I have statue number 476. That is great and all. However when I get my statue it is not number 476 off the line. It just becomes a random number. Who knows what it is. LOL! So in my eyes it doesn't matter. The value is already decreased.

:rotfl

You are being ironic, aren't you...?

SSC has already received my return SIM. I think I may be one of the first couple people with RMA #s, so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

My gut tells me there are VERY FEW if any replacements that are in mint Condition based on the damage rate reports,

So maybe this will be one of those 5 months deals.

The good news is we should all get a mint SIM to replace our flawed ones.

And, this is major kick ass piece IMO. It's beautiful.

Another heavily damaged piece delivered on the East Coast. Here's the worst of it.

Man, look at all that paint on the plastic. Sheesh.

That's in addition to all the numerous hand rib and spine scratched I've seen already posted here.

still trying to decide whether to return for a replacement or ask for a refund. i'm already out $20 for ebay fees.

Has it changed and they're offering replacements now? I thought they were only offering refunds?

If it's as wide-spread as the Roger Moore problem and they decide to remanufacture like they did with that one, it will take a few months for a replacement.
