Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

If it's broke or scratched send it back, it's real simple.

Some of the board members here sound like complete pricks in the comments they have left calling Sideshow employees idiots, morons, etc.

Maybe the delivery guy keeps dropping your boxes on purpose because he thinks your a duech bag!

It's ****** bag thank you very much.:monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

I hope you all understand that there is very little, if any, QC done here in the states. Almost all the QC is done at the factory. It ships on the boat, arrives in the SS ware house and then ships to us.

Do you think they open every item that comes into the country and inspect it?

But I will agree that someone really dropped the ball on this. It surely doesn't sound like a QC problem, but a packing one. I'm sure most of these damages occurred during shipping so how the hell would QC catch that?

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

Screw it, if mine comes all banged up I'll just paint it red and gold. :rock

Its definitely doable but based on the fact that Sideshow has been amazingly tight lipped about the exact color mixture of paint used on the Iron Man Comiquette it'll look good I'm sure just not exactly like this:

This is true for just about everything.

This is the real problem. Ask Master Replicas and the two year fiasco over their helmet line about QC problems at the factory. While its not as cost effective and definitely more time consuming and therefore more expensive by nature maybe a 2nd QC should be enacted in the states upon arrival. This most likely won't happen but it'd certainly ease a lot of the damage issues that many companies see with their products upon arrival.

How about companies just stop cutting cost corners when it comes to packing materials?

And, no, I don't believe a price increase is justified. We already pay enough for s&h on these items. The onus is on the company to ensure they do everything they can to ensure the product arrives intact and blemish-free. And if that means they have to spend a little extra dough & time on factory packing and materials, then get to it! :tap

NO they do not, but they are suppose to pick a random sample from the population of packages and statistically determine the outcome of having package predicament prior to shipping out to the USA

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

So has there been any Iron Mans that haven't been damaged? What a disaster. This piece was so buzzed about. This is my ultimate fear though -- There's so much apprehension when opening the boxes...you literally hold your breath and hope that the statue is in tact...like a toned down version of parents making sure the kid has all its fingers and toes after birth. I never got to get in on this one, even though I wish I was able to, but sorry to all the people that got saddled with damaged goods.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

Mine won't arrive until next Tuesday but I think I might have to start the replacement process today.

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Well not really that funny, but I am seriously thinking about starting the process now.

Of course this is not about QC. It's about the fact that Sideshow doesn't know how to protect their products. I'd buy the "shipping guy dropped my box a billion times" speech, however, it's a fact that there is no protective styrofoam wrapping over the statue like there is on the base. How hard is it to wrap the statue in that styrofoam stuff instead of using abrasive hard plastic lining?

EXACTLY CORRECT!! Some SS apologists here are pretty funny.

Re: STEALTH IRON MAN PICS

I'm going to go out on a limb and put forth the theory that someone in the factory made a HUGE mistake on what material to surround the statue itself with. I just cannot fathom that the plan was to wrap the base in soft foam, but the more delicate statue in an abrasive material.

If that's not it and SSC simply used this as a way to avoid more costly packing then they deserve any and all heat they get. This is a $300 limited edition item!

They do some weird **** sometimes. I remember the Cap vs. dio wasn't wrapped in anything except maybe a little plastic on the bottom of the statue.

Its called sampling. Or first article inspection. You make sure the first few are good, then sample every 10th unit, or 20th unit, etc.

I CAN SEE IT NOW, NON DAMAGED SIM ON EBAY SELLS FOR $2,000. non damaged exclusive of 1/1.

Anyone notice none of the the freak ebay presellers as posting, heh.

Also, don't close the door on your opened/exposed SIM in Styrofoam case. the fumes take over your room. You'll end up looking like my avatar after breathing in that stuff for a while.

I sold mine for $650. I received the money well in advance. I sent the guy and email an told him once it's shipped it's shipped. Actually I sent that two days ago before all of this crap. I might just return his money at this point. He hasn't gotten back to me and I would rather not risk it. Better he be pissed for me returning his money than getting a crappy scuffed up product. Either way is fine with me.

Stealth Iron Man Flippers

Do all the problems with SIM deter you from flipping for the $$.With a real possibility of sending it out only having it returned then sending in for a replacement if you can get one.I mean if someone drops a lot of $$ over retail they're going to want some kind of warranty right?
