Guh...

I don't think that teaser could have been worse if they actually tried to make something awfull.

The part where they made it look like the kid was causing the ship to crash....why?

The production value looks like a multi-camera sitcom from the 90s.

Dang it Khev, couldn't you see my post ... I came out all confident with my statement and it turns out I might not be 100% correct (I double checked, I'm wrong lol). Apparently it received a limited release from its distributor AIP in 1980. AIP were in the middle of being bought by Filmways and as a result the film did not get a proper release. Apparently it was weirdly dubbed as well so it would sound American rather than Australian.

I was half right right about the second bit, because Mad Max was not well known they didn't push the connection between the two films when marketing the sequel opting instead to go with the Road Warrior.

Ha, I actually wasn't trying to correct you as I had only skimmed the last few posts and saw jye's quoted comment at the top the last page and thought I'd chime in. :D

I don't know anyone in the states who actually saw Road Warrior in the theater in 1980. It became a cable classic a few years later once it got into rotation.

But why are we talking about such a brilliant movie in a thread about a film that appears to be the opposite?

I did. Or did in 82 when it was released in the States.

Saw it at a aged 2 screen theater in Shawnee, OK.

8 years old. Been my favorite since.

Wow -- I can't imagine what that must have been like back then. I watched it a bazillion times on cable, literally studied it, and always wished I could have seen it on the big screen. Lucky man.

I was hugely into cars at that age and since. And seeing all that action and mayhem. There were no movies ever like it. Darth Vader? lol give me Lord Humungus.

Never knew of the first movie until several years later after Thunderdome came out.

And now that's your signature.

I can't remember if I saw Mad Max before or after RW, also on cable, but I have to admit, I found it terribly boring... except for the finale... the saw + ankle scene. Great ending. But I loved the idea that Miller quite literally reinvented the entire world between Mad Max and Road Warrior.

I saw RW in the theater without seeing Mad Max first lol

MM only on cable.

Bat **** crazy first time seeing it and it still is lol

For Wor-Gar! :lol

This thread cracks me up..went from new Predator trailer to sequels that suck or better than the original :lol

A Team theme song playing in the background, in the distance, you hear a Predator say, "I pity the fool." Then, the movie starts.
