Re: Predator Reboot...

So you'll probably get your wish :lol

adrian brody was never MY choice
and I like arnold in the movie a lot.

i just dont have the hate for brody everyone else has. and to me he didnt feel out of place.
this was a different story. it wasnt even set on Earth. the preds this time around cherry picked humans with high body counts. they cared more about killers than strong men. (They freaking got old Danny Trejo....lol )

if you see the cast of predators they are all "weak" you had old danny trejo, a skinny convict, that skinny girl, the normal looking black guy. if anything Brody was one of two that WAS the only bad ass (and the russian guy)

the preds were just testing their equipment, i really never understood the brody hate. its not like he was as skinny as wonder woman...

this guy on the other hand....

wtf :lol, Not only was he not muscular at all but he was a wimp. at LEAST Brody went to the gym and bulked up a little. but this guy...

I hope they dont throw Dwayne Johnson in there. Kind of getting tired of seeing him in movies.

Put Donnie Yen in there and have him do some thunderous Ip Man punches to Predators ugly face!

Re: Predator Reboot...

The Rock is cool but he has his Rock gentle giant persona I don't like for this, so I'd go with Hugh Jackman, he actually fits nicely, being Australian and all :lol

The original crew was diverse, half of it looked like real soldiers, they other half didn't, if they can strike that balance again then all will be fine.

But yeah there aren't any cool action heroes anymore so the 80's flair is gonna be missing, in which case I'd rather they did a grittier war situation with a Predator involved instead of going the Expendables route trying to regain that 80's magic.

Edit: I trade Jackman for Statham, good call crows.

:exactly: :lecture :exactly:

We're not saying they have to look like those balloons up top there, but at least as bad ass as the original crew.

I think that even by 80s sci fi standards they were a rarity

theres no big oily man in this team:

their biggest bad ass was a non muscular short woman :lol

or no oily man here

dont forget who defeated the terinator, a skinny wimpy guy :lol

it makes me wonder if they had hired Michael Biehn for the cop in predator 2 if you guys would have trash him as much as brody :dunno

I'm ok with McReady, Reese and Ripley taking on Predator as long as Mr. T can join them.

Re: Predator Reboot...

predator likes combat
how many soldiers really do look like Arnold? for example?
but how many look similar to brody?
how many body builders or WWE would be found in combat in the jungle?

Arnold was not even the most dangerous because he happened to be the strongest or the biggest.
he was the one that figured out things about the pred before the others and he was more clever, Arnolds brain and quick problem solving skills is what gave him advantage against the pred.

had nothing to do with his muscles

True. His strength did help him though when he was setting his traps that ultimately nailed the Predator. I doubt I could have raised that big log. Heck I couldn't even manage one pull-up the other night with some exercise equipment at my local beach. I don't think my feet even left the ground.

Damn shame no one is allowed to (officially) make this whole team as action figures. NECA would love to do it but with the exception of Arnie the other bigger name actors haven't played ball. Carl Weathers seemed to offer some hope with some twitter exchanges with Randy Falk but even that has so far come to nothing.

:lol Wierzbowski looks pretty big although his role in the film is tiny, this picture is a better look at him (and Crowe) than you get in the movie.

Re: Predator Reboot...

Holy **** are people actually defending skinny ass Adrian Brody as a Predator slaughterer. :lol

Him getting a buff looking Hot Toys doll was comical enough.

dont forget who defeated the terinator, a skinny wimpy guy :lol

A hydraulic press defeated the Terminator.

Re: Predator Reboot...

I always thought a cool idea for a Predator sequel would be to throw a predator into a Die Hard/The Raid/Dredd type situation with cops and bad guys trapped in a high rise with one of them.

Re: Predator Reboot...

You guys wanting a bulked up 80's style actor will be disappointed.

Affleck, Cooper and Franco (although it was his agents pushing for the role) have all passed on the lead for this. Affleck would have been great but he's tied down to DC so hopefully that's the reason he passed.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned that Harrigan is the only person to have beaten a Predator in a one-on-one fight, well apart from Brody. :lol The point being it's all down to the story - put Harrigan in the jungle and it doesn't work, put him as a crazy ass relentless cop in the city and it works.

Re: Predator Reboot...

James Franco. :lol what was he going to do, offer the predator a joint? Was seth rogan going to be the predator?
