P1 was different because you had a team and the banter associated with members working closely in dangerous situations. The main conflict is between Dillon and the team, he's essentially the villain until the Predator finally makes himself fully known to the team. Harrigan's team may be are as tight as Dutch's, but there's an ongoing conflict with their superiors, Keye's mob and even the annoying tv reporter.
I think Predator 2 has more interesting characters. Perhaps not as well-acted in some cases, but certainly more interesting. Then again, P1 isn't as focused on human conflicts and personal vendettas as P2.
