In all seriousness, when non statue-comic book collectors are over (you know, weirdos), they always prefer the PF over the fully sculpted.

They always want to touch the damn PFs, like rub it and then pinch and tug on their clothes. :horror

I never let them. I mean really, if I'm not letting you rub, pinch and tug on my wife, why then would you think it's ok to do the same with Thor's inner thighs, Cap's legs or Hulk's crotch.

But they sure do focus on those PFs, everyone does all the time, you name it, family, neighbors, cops.

This Punisher has made me come to the realization that it's not the mixed media Premium Format that I love so much but the 1/4 scale itself. I think. :lol

No doubt, 1/4 scale or bigger or get the hell out of my way.

Bowen this.

Crap, I own Mighty Muggs, damn it, I hate it when I spew Hipocrisy! :monkey2

i wonder want happened with the good'ol Exclusives. Switch out extra head/hand holdin a uzi perhaps, a magnum with scope or a rifle. Lately we are getting paper prints... i guess the economy is hitting SS also

Ohh this thread is getting to be too funny.

To PF or not to PF? See it is now sounding like Shakespeare.

Whether you like PF or not, is not the main thing here. It is what consumers and industry say. And they say this by a) money paid or not paid for PF, b) supply and demand.

The fact of the matter is that PF is a huge market out there. It doesn't matter what the few of us on this forum think of them, bottom line, when SS goes to sell them, they sell out most of the time, eventually all of the time, lol.

That means there must be some kind of market that is a) spending $ on PF, and b) SS is supplying and demanding that. Enough supply and demand to make a business out of it, in fact, a major part of their business, one which got them started.

For me, I collect mostly PF, and some comiquettes depending on how they fit. I love the fabric and metal additions to a statue, they make them look more real. On the other hand there are some commiquettes SS is making, and the fact that they are 1/4 scale or pretty darn close to it, which will fit in just perfectly with the PF.

As for the recasts: Remember, they are being recast BECAUSE the PF are so popular, not the other way around.

well, i'd tinkered with the idea of getting the PF before, but now seeing the comiquette, i now have a choice. however, as a matter of personal opinion, i prefer the PF more than the comiquette.

as for PFs versus Comiquette, it's a toss-up. i like my Emma Frost comiquette, but was not TOO thrilled with the PF, though i am getting that too. I liked both Iron Mans, and while i used to have the Elektra PF, i think i'll like the comiquette a lil more. I like the PF mystique for the style, but the comiquette looks better, resembling the comic

i think it's the captured appearance that does it for me.

that being said, the idea of mixed format with the PFs does add an extra dimension as you see the polystone mixed in with leather, cloth, etc.
i prefer PFs but comiquettes definitely hold their own. just a matter of preference.

It certainly makes sense for this piece to be fully sculpted considering the cartoony art they're modeling it after. Just as Emma Frost makes more sense being fully sculpted since they weren't using a realistic reference, but a more cartoony one.

But in the long run - if you prefer fully sculpted over mixed media....you're wrong.:monkey3

How can we take a Tonner fanatic seriously? :monkey3

A lot of assumptions in your post that youre trying hard to pass off as fact. it's quite a fun read.

Sideshow sells out of the PFs all the time so there MUST be a market out there? Yes, it's called "SIDESHOW DISTRIBUTORS and RETAILERS"! They end up with a lot of Sideshow's stock to sell in their own stores.

And FYI, this discussion was started when someone said "...it just doesn't make much sense to sculpt the pants to look like real pants, have a top notch paint job to look like real pants vs. just having real pants."

My argument was that sculpted pants can and often times does look more dynamic and real because of the fact the sculptor can physically control the movement and specific look that they are trying to achieve with a piece. with cloth it's just going to hang there unless you put wires in.

To your recast comment, it really makes no sense which one is more popular. My point was that the recast fully sculpted and painted ones look better than the PF.

Nash has stated a great fact here. Not sure why people are saying his wrong or other wise. The fact is some people like it Sculpted some like mix media and other like both.

PS: Batman i have no idea what your post was trying to say :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

its $15.. Man you guys need to learn how to subtract :monkey4

My deepest and most sincere apologies oh pitumaster! This grasshopper was too lazy to go to the Punisher Comiquette page to see the exact number and thus threw one out there. Please forgive my mathematical discrepancies. :monkey2

and the right to have a lower ES:D

Well of course, I usually get only EX but most of the time they come with an alternate head or costume which really makes it worth the while. I wasn't crazy about the idea of just a print but since the comiquette is modeled off the art I can see how that would be cool. Kinda like the AH! Comiquette line. Love that Mary Jane.

I ordered the reg cuz I really just want this awesome sculpt!

Sculpt is better, no need to use wires or water treatment to make the cloth sit right or look natural, all the proper crinkles, creases, bends are sculpted into the statue :rock can't wait to see the Comiquette Hulk, Thanos, etc... :rock :rock!

Fully sculpted works for Punisher and looks great but like I said before it would look terrible for one like Blackbeard. Some characters just lend themselves better to each type. No real need to argue about I'm just happy we are getting some cool as hell figs these days.
