So, it's been a while since I've been in the gym so I am aware that I'm way out of shape. But I've never experienced a full on muscle cramp until today. I was doing hanging leglifts for my abs, then I went over to the incline bench to do some more sit ups when my left abs fully contracted. It lasted for a few minutes, and I didn't move for those minutes... Really really freaky, and scared the crap out of me. I was hunched over in pretty bad pain and afraid my abs were going to rip. Does anyone know why this would happen, and how to prevent it?? I believe dehydration may be the culprit, but I just wanted to check here and see if anyone would know.

do those first thing. that worked for me. could be a blood sugar drop too

You're probably just a Pussie (no kiddin) happens to the best of us. Pay it no mind and keep training HARD! And then it won't happen anymore. (also yes WATER)

Seriously, if you are not in the hospital by now. Just play it off to you being weak. When was the last time something serious happened and you didn't goto the hospital?

Best advice i could give, Good luck!

:exactly: I fully endorse this answer for CJ.

CJ - :nana::wink1:

That all said...water is a great idea.

My own workout whoa....pulled a muscle while jogging and am on day 2 of 2 of no exercise. I'm feeling quite better (and hopefully will be tip top tomorrow) but not being able to have any good cardio has been oh so frustrating. But, have to get healed up.

I think it might be time for me to come up with a new routine and incorporate some different exercises soon. I've had the same workout routine for the longest time that has produced excellent results but now unfortunately I believe I'm at a bit of stand still. It's like my car has made a dead stop right in the middle of the track while everyone zooms right by me.

Time to train and inlign the stars becoming the warior!

Old man which swims 100 laps every morning beats me into the gym, DAMN U OLDMAN!!!

I'm not worried, I know you'll come back stronger, one thing about motivated folks is that you may keep them down at the moment but they are ones that are the hungriest. So he may of beating you this time and point in your life but it's far from over.

You all ready know this being in the sport, keep doin and just do. Leave everyone in the wasteland next time. :lecture

Deadlifts with pushups, in between, I believe this was my 3rd to last set. I usually go til I can't go no longer keeping about 10-15 seconds to none on rest between pushups, deadlifts and racking weights.
