That's why I found it odd that Josh put me on Ignore (and then felt the need to let me know via PM). We've had it out a few times, but I always thought we were cool. I even offered to get him Ray Park's autograph at CIV if he needed it. Oh well.
I have to admit, that is a bit strange... even for Josh! But you two are the ones who usually keep the merry-go-round going. :D

TBH, the problem with you & Josh is that you keep at it, once a debate starts neither of you back down
Right. But I also don't take it personally and can go into a completely separate thread and discuss something else as if the other debate never even occurred. I just think Josh (and others) take things too personally and emotionally with some of this stuff. And you can never have a rational debate based on emotion. It's impossible.

On the other hand, some of us are like the dogs from the old WB cartoons. We scrap, claw, fight, and yell... but then we "clock out" and go onto something else as if it never happened. Because it's NOT personal. Just opinion about toys and collectibles or whatever else. That's how I roll anyway.

But I find it tiring when someone feels the need to hammer home their opinion over and over.

Some people have to repeat themselves because a fanatical minority here seem to belittle and devalue the comments of anyone who has anything negative to say about SS.

If anyone here who has ever posted anything negative about SS or its products was banned, how many people would be left here?

I always give my honest opinion whenever I'm on the boards, even if it's not the popular opinion.

I always think you should say what you really think about a product, because if you just go with the crowd and aren't saying what you really think then whats the point in being on the boards at all, you're not having a discussion you're just agreeing.

Like someone else said earlier someone could point out something negative about the product that you hadn't considered or thought of, so it's good to hear others opinions.

As long as there are forums there'll be people with differing opinions as long as things are kept respectful between individuals then that shouldn't be a problem.

Josh and I only ever had one run in on RS and that was like a year ago, since I've been on these boards he's made me feel welcome and we've talked about a number of SW products in PM etc.

He's cool with me and so are you Irish.

Neil, I wasnt referring just to you about the hatin' on Jedi, but your quote was the most recent that stuck with me. I have seen ALOT of hate on Jedi from ALOT of people that saw Star Wars in '77. I have chosen to not jump in because when you hold a belief from '83 onward it is hard to change no matter how mature and well thought out the debate.

I understand that when you see your favorite being taken down you react a certain way--- I still don't get why ANH is ranked so low on that ranking--- and I think the fact that you have 35+ year olds sharing with 25+ and maybe some mature 18+, all of whom entered the SW world in different moments, that's a great thing. For some it will always be Darth Vader that scares the bleep out of them--- for others it's Darth Maul's menace. I didn't take your quoting me as a bad thing--- I like referring to the ewoks as Teddies :D - I just wish in a world with so many bigger problems and major disagreements that we could all agree to disagree and ALL agree that we share an affection for a common joy.

Irish, you're welcome to disagree with me (and start a healthy debate) anytime--- I hope that we can all "just get along"... now where's my damn monkey faced to small buns Leia? :rotfl

Damn you to hell!!!!! I'm sending you a PM right now you LANDO-COLT 45 DRINKIN' HATER... It's a warning to let you know that I'm coming--- and HELL'S COMING WITH ME!!!!!!!!!! (oh my, that's what SS needs to do... Tombstone 12" line... wait--- I've lost focus.)

Oh right---- you're dead to me Irish. I've cut out that 1/8 irish part of me and embracing solely the 7/8 scotch--- and as soon as the weekend start I'll drink a 7/8 of scotch and plot your downfall. Or I'll go home and take a look at my new recently delivered Fed-Ex Exc. PF Leia (the first one that I've gotten with Grievous on the way) lovingly... well--- maybe the wife'll be jealous. Wait-- where was I?

Oh right----- die Irish..........

I just wanted to let you know that I won't be reading this response, as I have myself on ignore.
And wit like that is one of many reasons why Tom will always be one of the most-liked members here.

I HATE Tom. Thought you should all know. I've got #42 Boba and he'll never see it (insert maniacal laughter here and twirl my insanely long mustache).

[Soapbox on/]

I'll chime in here and say this... no one's opinions will ever be censored here, as long as people remain civil and follow the few rules that have been setup. One of most easily abused rule (that will always get the post deleted, thread locked, or worst) is attacks on other board members; from the FAQ...

<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=tcat>Do I have to be nice?</TD></TR><TR><TD class=alt1>In any forum that encourages the free exchange of ideas differing opinions are bound to crop up -- just keep it civil, basic netiquette applies, no flames, no spamming, etc. Personal attacks, name calling and outright rudeness will not be tolerated. But if someone is obviously joking please don't take offense, we're not going to be the "political correctness" police here.

A good guideline is - if you wouldn't say it to a casual acquaintance at work then you shouldn't say it here.

2) This goes for PM (private messages) and e-mail as well. If a member is abusing another member through private means the admin and mods may take steps to ban the abusive member.

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

So, as long as the discussions remain civil and free of personal attacks, even if they get somewhat heated, the thread will probably remain open for continued debate.
