Is there really a debate on if zombies were there? It clearly shows them trying to get at Merle through the door and it's what prompts him to take his panic to the point of sawing his hand off.

No, I see no important difference between Merle and Shane. One doesn't care whether he's doing what's right, and the other is formerly an arrogant, womanizing cop.

The zombies roam, but ultimately it doesn't matter how they got there. If Merle did it, it's Merle's fault, not Rick's. The camp still lowered their guard.

Right. That's why they weren't in the stairwell when Rick and the others came to save him.

Don't think Merle brought the zombies back to the camp.
The cab was open so how would he survive driving the truck,full of zombies to the camp without being eaten?
Do think he took the truck and got away from Atlanta.

Is it possible that Merle loaded up some walkers and took them back to the camp? Sure.

But I don't think that's what happened. There were far too many walkers that attacked the camp for one man with one hand to handle, IMO.

But in all fairness, after her exchange with Hershall after Rick's meeting (breakfast), and her new found addiction to Asian sausage after Glen saved her ass, it's kinda a no-brainer.

That would have been really cool. To bad about ole Frank not being with the show any more. Would have liked to see witwer in it too. Seems like acool guy, and a rather decent actor.

Sounds cool but ultimately I understand why they didn't go with the idea. After the uncertainty of the first season ending, the audience will actually be expecting to see the main cast in the season opener and not a bunch of unknown characters. It will in fact be very jarring and people will be wondering if they are even watching the right show. Sure the payoff will be great but only to the hardcore fan. Casual viewers might actually tuned in to other channels while waiting for the main cast to show up.

That concept would have work better as a filler episode in Season 1 instead and in all honesty, there is an episode or two in season one that I can do without (or greatly shortened and combined into one instead).

I really hope they pick up the pace when Season 2 starts again. The pace currently is slower than a zombie's (though the payoff is very good).

I for one don't mind that they didn't go that route. It would just be a filler episode and I hate filler episodes. When Frank mentions Lost and the fact that they did this, I can honestly say that was why I stopped watching Lost. It got boring and convoluted with more questions and few answers. I think the viewers are all intelligent enough (well most of them) to realize that all these walkers were humans once and there really isn't a burning need to tell their story when we are still following the story of the main cast. Tank zombie...I don't care. If Frank wanted to do his story as a webisode, like they did with bicycle zombie, then great but don't interrupt the pacing of the main story and cast for miscellaneous walker backstories.

While I like Frank and respect the work he has done to date, I have to side with AMC on this one and I am glad they didn't go this route.

While it feeds the ADD and ADHD viewers, the story should stick with the main cast. Otherwise, you're pretty much feeding disinterest to those who prefer actual depth and character development.

Eh. I think you're going too hard on a one episode showing the events that took place during the outbreak. It sounded like a cool episode.

Hell, that character could've developed pretty well from the start, until the end. I doubt Frank would've made a big ol BOOM fest.

I don't think there's anything wrong with action either. Action for the sake of action...maybe. Show would get boring as hell if every 5 minutes a Zombie would come out, but some good thrilling scenes should be welcomed every once in a while.

I am glad this show isn't a action show. I'm defiantly excited for Season 2 Part 2.
